@rossmacleodputt Nonsense argument. It takes seconds to lift and replace. Make it that any ball on the fairway can be moved 6 inches. Why do we mark balls on the green? Surely that slows the game down more than anything else.

No. It can be difficult to define a divot. Another way to slow play down as people take drops or discuss if they should be getting a drop. How often does it even happen? Not enough to get so much airtime imo. Bad breaks are part of the game. “Play it as it lies” 😃
