Lookit, been re-trying this X thing since it went free-speech but my Zen won’t allow a feed full of your fights with “exmos” or “progmos” or other unkind slurs. I’m following ANYONE that sets off the #ThinkCelestial radar and blocking EVERYONE that detracts from it.

The Ultra-Millionaire Tax Act would generate over $6 trillion over the next decade—without raising taxes on 99.85% of American households. This wealth tax for millionaires and billionaires could pay for universal child care, free community college, Medicare expansion, and more.

That's not the question YOUR St. Peter would be asking. He would be asking "Did you give your money to corrupt multi-millionaire politicians so that they could give it to the NGOs their spouses run as multi-millionaire CEOs so that they could give it to still even more corrupt multi-millionaire politicians?". Don't come after my money until your money has all been given away.

And people selling a better plan, should actually have a better plan. And you all keep calling investing a casino. Social Security underperforms literally every other way of multiplying capital. It's literally, "let me put my money in something that makes me more capable of the charity the politicians want to run through the NGOs their spouses run". And, yes, the social programs are ALL corrupt and bloated and, far too often, benefit folks who are capable of supporting themselves but are unwilling to do so.

@DavidEllisRoot @unusual_whales “If only I had put my money into the stock casino instead of giving it to [name of any social program] I’d be rich! Instead it’s all going to those damn [beneficiaries of said social program]!” You could say this about anything. People who live in society should participate in it

Murray: Is it true that people making under $184k pay a 12.4% Social Security tax rate? Dahl: Yes Murray: And the rate for someone making $1 million? Dahl: 2.2% Murray: So, a 12.4% tax for people making less than $184k, but 2.2% for a millionaire or .0002% for billionaires.

@DavidEllisRoot @unusual_whales There's no guarantee you'll be making 7%. You could be losing 10% or more in the Wall St. casino. Historical avg. returns aren't reliable.

Thanks for your concern but I have stocks whose DIVIDENDS are higher than 7%. And if you bet on foreign oil when a President says he’s going to cut domestic oil production after he takes office (thank you, Uncle Joe!) and killer drones before a Mideast conflict, the lottery tickets print themselves.

@Memesgamesrants @TheTrekCentral And that was before you could watch "TV" from a device that fits in your pocket and could send the same message in a 30-seond tweet directly to their marketing and development teams.

I've been making $100,000 for more than 20 years now. It's considerably more, but it would be tacky to say. At 12.4% annual deduction for SS, that's $12,400 (I said $12,000 and we're still ignoring the 12.4% against a salary greater than $100,000/year in more recent years, but that's that "simple math" I was talking about earlier). The much smaller contributions before that time weren't even factored in above but, compound interest would have done wonders to, say, the $5,000 each year I was wasting 30 years ago and the $2-3,000 each year I was wasting 40 years ago. Would you rather have $900,000 at retirement or $24,000 a year? Because we could start a whole new talk about what kind of life you could live off just the 7% interest of $900,000 (SPOILER: It's more than $24,000).

What technology is he considering giving to primitive cultures? Jet propulsion for efficient travel (we make those into missiles now)? Gas combustion engine for tractors and combines (we make tanks that run with those)? TNT for mining critical metals (THAT's never been weaponized)? Or does he just want them to know how to grow a more resilient carrot? We'd be a world of one-armed monkeys with just light-saber technology.

Star Trek: Voyager actor Robert Beltran on how the Prime Directive is ridiculous: "The idea of leaving any species to die in its own filth when you have the ability to help them, just because you wanna let them get through their normal evolutionary processes is bunk -- it's a bunch of fascist crap. I much prefer the Cub Scout motto." Is he correct?

Yes. I could have calculated for the nearly 40 years (admittedly at a lower annual contribution at the very beginning) I have been wasting my money in SS and my investments are just a bit north of a 7% return. I was deliberately keeping the math basic and erring on the safe side to compensate for underestimating the impact of the inflation rate.
