@BryanGlezerson @pastryarm @katiewiskar Idk man an anesthesiologist asked for 10 mg/kg of roc for an awake patient to intubate - couldn’t give me a reason, surely no guideline out there. We don’t like gatekeeping meds, just like everyone on the healthcare team, keeping patients safe from harm or unnecessary meds

@pastryarm @katiewiskar If somebody wants to gatekeep medications in a hospital, then the onus is upon that person to inform themselves about evidence-based use of those meds. From the perspective of the physician (who is squarely responsible for the outcome) it is felt to be obstructive otherwise.

Me: orders vancomycin for patient Phone rings - Pharmacy: “Do you really want X dose for this patient?” Me: “Absolutely not, I have no idea how to dose this medication, please change it to whatever you think is correct”
