After buying broadcast dotcom for $8,000 in 1997, @mcuban went on a domain name buying spree when he realized he could use simple URLs to route traffic to the site. As a result, he says he now owns democracy dotcom, baseball dotcom, mrpresident dotcom, sandwich dotcom, finalfour dotcom, and more. "You name it, I've bought it."

In 2026, the highest-engagement Super Bowl LX commercials were dominated by AI platforms, entertainment trailers, and nostalgic themes, with ai.com leading with 9.1x more engagement than the median ad. Congrats to @kris @aidotcom

Crypto(.)com isn’t just a crypto company anymore. They’re launching their own AI agent platform, ai(.)com, built for regular users, focused on privacy and decentralization, and pushing it with a Super Bowl ad. This is a full pivot from trading apps to personal AI assistants. They’re not chasing hype. They’re trying to compete with OpenAI and Google on the biggest stage possible. Crypto → AI → mainstream. coincentral.com/crypto-com-ceo…

This is an incredible moment for the domain industry as a whole — the world’s largest public domain sale, center stage at the Super Bowl. Ultra-premium domains are transformative assets like no other. They demand, and receive, attention!

Wow! $70 million confirmed sale of the ai.com domain name! Largest domain sale ever publicly disclosed! Congrats to all involved. Domains are the greatest and most undervalued assets on Earth!

I purchased ai.com in April. Since that time, we created a team that has been steadily building. There are always twists and turns, but I’m excited with our first launch this Sunday during the Super Bowl.
