By failing to properly prepare for Winter Storm Fern, @NESpower put Tennesseans in harm’s way. NES owes its customers transparency, accountability, and a clear explanation for why thousands of people remain without power. I’m demanding answers to ensure this can’t happen again.

@TheAceNickWhite @NESpower This is the most confusing. We had lots of trucks in our neighborhood on Tuesday & Wednesday...we got our hopes up...then nothing today and still no power since Sunday at 5:30AM. Of course we've now gotten 3 texts saying power is back on, wrong. Sorry y'all are having same issue.

@NESpower The way you have started and stopped service in Cheatham county is nothing short of criminal. Over 100 hours of no power but you keep sending trucks and pulling them away. You’ve now cut the affected area out here from 1300 to around 200 so you can divert resources. Disgusting.

As power restoration efforts continue, NES teams continue to make progress, restoring power to 145,200 customers. We know this prolonged power outage is a severe hardship, and crews are working as quickly and safely as possible to reach every last customer. NES and contracted lineworkers will continue operations in rotations, and they will remain on extended 14–hour to 16‑hour shifts to ensure we can continue responding quickly to help our customers. Right now: · We have about 84,800 customers currently without power · There were 444 broken poles across our service area · We have fixed 107 of those broken poles NES has deployed 1,004 lineworkers to continue restoration efforts and help our customers. By tonight NES will have 1,084 linewokers in the field, including those from from Florida, Maryland, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Mississippi, Indiana and Tennessee.

@WhelanHealth Totally agree. We're on hour 58 or so and the temp in our home is hovering around 38. We are fortunate enough to be able to evacuate to a hotel. However, it didn't have to be this way--- proper planning and a better comms strategy is the least we can ask for.

Nashville needs a serious infrastructure upgrade. And a more mature approach to emergency management. 3 days after the storm and many people are unaccounted for in homes that are likely dropping into 30 degree indoor temp. Apartment buildings and nursing homes are having to be evacuated. We will find out afterwards what the impact was. Having lived in Iowa, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts I can tell you this is not how it has to be. Every storm doesn't knock out power and roads for three days- with every elected official giving themselves kudos for the great response. Time to grow up

#NESOutageAlert January 27 11:30am NES teams worked overnight to make repairs and restore power to 103,000 customers. NES and contracted lineworkers will continue operations in rotations, and they will remain on extended 14–16‑hour shifts to ensure we can continue responding quickly. Right now: • there are about 135,000 customers currently without power • at least 216 broken poles have been reported across our service area NES is deploying 700 lineworkers across the service area this morning and will add more throughout the day. Additionally, 207 vegetation management teams as well as supplemental contract teams have been deployed to complement our restoration efforts and ensure lineworkers can continue reaching their sites efficiently. There are currently many areas with outages of 1,000 customers or more, including: • Brick Church/North Nashville • Bellevue/West Nashville • Hendersonville • Elysian Fields • Madison • Rosebank/East Nashville • Goodlettsville • Forest Hills • Brentwood NES restores power by tackling areas affecting the largest number of customers first. We understand being without power is difficult, especially when conditions outside are extreme. Regardless of where a customer lives, every customer is important, and our lineworkers are working hard to restore power to every last customer. No one will be forgotten or left behind; however, utility prioritization practices are to restore the greatest number of customers first. We ask that customers ensure their homes are ready to receive power. If weatherheads, power masts, or meter bases are damaged, our lineworkers cannot safely reconnect power. NES maintains and repairs the lines leading to a customer’s home, but homeowners are responsible for the equipment on the house. If home equipment repairs need to be made, we strongly suggest contacting a licensed electrician for those repairs. Along with city officials, we also continue to ask for the community’s help. If your power is out, do not call 911. We need to keep those lines open for emergencies. But if you see a downed power line, that is an emergency, so that is when it is appropriate to call 911. We ask that everyone stay away from downed power lines, and to always assume they are live and dangerous. How to Stay Updated • If you are without power, please report it by texting OUT to 637797 (NESPWR) from the phone number linked to your account, or by calling (615) 234‑0000. • NES will share restoration information on X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook throughout the event.

@yarbro @NESpower I'm afraid this is the wrong side of this issue. I too am grateful for those working, however, praising this planning is purely irresponsible as a city leader.

Much appreciation for the heroic work being done by @NESpower. They’ve gotten power back to nearly 60,000 of those who lost it, have surged extra linemen into the city, and have their teams working double-shifts to deal with over 100 broken poles and 175,000 still without power.

@NESpower My able bodied self hiked out of my neighborhood because it's impassable- think of all of the folks who aren't physically able to leave their freezing homes. This is on both NES and our elected officials, all of them. I've never seen something so mismanaged from planning to comms

#NESOutageAlert January 25 9am The combination of freezing rain and ice has impacted the NES service territory overnight, with trees being weighed down by ice causing them to snap and take down power lines. Right now, more than 188,000 customers are currently without power. Our teams are fully staffed and already in the field assessing damage and beginning repairs, and contract crews have been called in to assist. This will be a longer outage which could span over days or longer. We have additional resources through mutual aid and supplemental crews on their way. As of 7 a.m. this morning we have 120 NES lineworkers, and 40 contracted lineworkers. This evening, we will have 80 lineworkers mobilizing to Nashville and another 75 planned to arrive at 7 a.m. tomorrow. Since yesterday, crews have been operating in continuous rotations, and they will remain on extended 14–16‑hour shifts to ensure we can continue responding to outages quickly. We ask that everyone stay away from downed power lines, and to always assume they are live and dangerous. How to Stay Updated ● Our phone system is currently overloaded due to high call volumes. To quickly report a power outage, please follow the instructions on our outage map, by pressing the report button at the bottom right of the page. Customers can also report outages by texting OUT to 637797 (NESPWR) from the phone number linked to their account. ● NES will share restoration information on X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook throughout the event.
