This is because Messiah in Christian theology means something else then it meant there within context.
In Hebrew Messiah mean "anointed one," i.e. chosen by God for a mission, but what mission?

@FDAT901 @EliF40670280619 @Polit_eurOpines Yes, this is true - but not so much in the commonly accepted sense of a 'normative' Messiah - more that he was chosen by God as an instrument for Jewish liberation in that moment.

@EliF40670280619 @Polit_eurOpines They see him as more of a legitimate messiah because he helped reestablish Jewish sovereignty in Judea which is what the term originally meant before it gained a spiritual element to it
