everybody has self cared & boundaried themselves into loneliness. mfer used to drive by your house and you was on the porch. they stopped and talked for hours. not one penny spent. you may offer them a beer (or drink whatever) and that was an activity.

Cyah speak for Grenada, but creole in Trinidad is mostly dead, unfortunately & I hate that for us tbh.

He’s NOT right! Saint Lucia and Dominica cannot be grouped with Grenada and Trinidad when it comes to creole preservation. Don’t piss me off please!

@FakeDeep_ Ty 🙏. We have old calypsos too that were sung in patois. That’s why was actually the original language before English. It’s sad we don’t teach it in schools.

@tashagill That's how I understand it to be as well. So the patois that we once spoke, with the exception of 1 or 2 communities, for the most part isn't spoken anymore.

@Trini_Kay Def not in the same way. Even now when I mention madras print i get blank stares and id usually habe to say school uniform print cus thats what its associated it. I also only thought paramin did the mass.

@FakeDeep_ Paramin and Talparo has Patios Mass in the churches and creole day celebrations ( in october). The madras is featured there but certainly not in a way it’s celebrated in the french Caribbean.

For Trinidad I took Patios classes with Nmandi Hodge and it’s available online. I will also direct people to Paramin if they are serious about learning. Still spoke by plenty elders and they willing to teach. The R.C school in Paramin also teaches the children.
