Absolutely. In fact, I did so this morning... TWICE!

I got some scary news about my sister’s cancer today and it feels a little like the world is crashing down. I laid on the grass and Luther climbed on top of me. He is a perfect dog and I love him so much.

Well, it sort of feels like I'm never going to have a job again. Lots of rejections so far this year... no interviews.

@DoodleNessa I don't cry very often when reading X, but when I do, it's usually over a dog I've never met. ❤️

@Gusterbear Autoimmune & chronic disease are difficult & it takes a strong person to deal w/ all of that. I should know, I've been doing it for 40+ years. Don't say "I'm sad, sick & lazy". Say, "I'm dealing w/ difficult things & I'm doing the best I can." Sometimes your best is just resting.

Sometimes I feel like such a terrible person who has wasted my life being sick and sad and lazy. I am trying so hard to be a good person. Thank you all of you for always being so kind.

@servicerotties We put a mesh muzzle on our AmStaff mix Layla simply because she's a garbage hound and will eat anything she finds on the sidewalk on walks. 😂

Kenji, the baby Mooseweiler, is learning to be comfortable with a muzzle. He isn't aggressive or likely to bite someone, so why do we do this? Emergency preparedness. If he's ever seriously injured the vet clinic will likely muzzle him as soon as they take him into the back. Even the gentlest of dogs with the best temperaments might become fearful and bite if they are in pain and someone tries to exam their injury. Especially if it's a stranger or they already have negative feelings about vet clinics. Even something as straightforward as a torn nail can be painful enough that a muzzle is used. Putting the muzzle on allows the veterinary team to quickly and safely examine the dog, perform first aid, or start an IV for sedation if needed. If a dog has never worn a muzzle, it can add to the stress and fear they are already experiencing from being restrained and examined while being in pain, especially if they try to resist having it put on. It's much easier on the dog and the veterinary team if the dog is comfortable with wearing a muzzle. If the dog has had a lot of positive conditioning with the muzzle it can actually help calm them as it's something familiar with good emotions attached. Anytime I can help my dogs avoid unnecessary stress, I'll do it. Muzzle training is one way and it helps ensure we're prepared for emergencies. Often when someone sees a dog wearing a muzzle, they assume the dog is aggressive. That's often not the case. It could simply be wearing it during training to get comfortable with it or it might be a dog that eats things off the ground. It could also be a responsible owner of a fearful dog that might snap if an unleashed dog rudely runs up. A muzzle doesn't mean a dog is bad. @Gusterbear I was once viciously attacked by a sprinkler and sprained my ankle very badly. I did not get a fashionable boot... just crutches. 😂

I have a medium to severe sprain and get to wear this fashionable boot for a few days. I probably have not helped things by walking on it for two weeks!

@CanadianPenny1 I think you're a Chipin! A chihuahua/minpin mix. We found a little lost MinPin once, looked all over for her family, but couldn't find it. She was adopted quickly though and found a good home. She had a spring-loaded butt and could jump from the ground straight into your arms.
