Following the evacuation of baggage reclaim and immigration areas in the North Terminal, West Midlands Fire Service has confirmed it is safe for passengers to return, as the incident is now resolved.
We are working to move all displaced passengers back into the terminal as quickly as possible.
We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused some of our passengers. Safety is our number one priority and we thank people for their patience and our partners for their support.
@FannyFracker@bhx_official In my workplace because time is money, a fire evac has target turn around if 20mins for a false alarm. Also a procedure of communication to customers waiting so no one is sat wondering.

Birmingham airport is dirty, the toilets are always a mess and the baggage trolleys are £2 to use.

Disgraceful from baggage security at @bhx_official dropped my partners belongings smashing an item worth £40. The attitude that followed was disgusting. Gave a piece of paper with instructions to recover costs with an email address that’s not even active. What next?

@bhx_official your Ryanair luggage drop is a joke . Making people queue again and again if they are more than 2 hours early. In Milan Bergamo arrived 4 hours before flight and fantastic easy and simple service your power trip staff need a refresh

I can carry a lighter in hand luggage which is capable of causing a fire in the cabin. A tiny tiny 10mm spanner carried to connect my motorcyle battery at airport on arrival I'd deemed dangerous. @bhx_official birmingham get a grip
