taste is the only skill moat that matters now ive been building a second (taste) brain based on my decade+ of obsessive personal data collection which i can now synthesize into something useful. i'm training a model on: 1. a ratings & reviews spreadsheet ive been keeping since 2009 of every movie, book, tv show, and concert 2. 28 countries worth of travel blog posts ive written 3. a playlist of my favorite songs in itunes (yes, im a proud mp3 collector and spotify holdout) 4. list of my favorite restaurants around the world output is a unified understanding of the cultural version of 'me.' once it truly understands 'me', i'm going to build an app to recommend things that I have not yet done, seen, visited that *should* be perfectly attuned to what i might like. being able to build a personal algo is something lots of people are going to want but lack the data to accomplish at this level of granularity and excited to see where this goes.

SF is great for Vietnamese, Japanese, Nepalese, Thai, and "New American" food. It is NOT great for Italian or Chinese food, which it's traditionally famous for. This is one reason SF gets unfairly maligned as a food city.
