🇵🇹🗣️ Arnaldo Edi Lopes da Silva (former Portugal player) on Cristiano Ronaldo:
"I tried to hold myself together. I was sitting here holding back my tears, and it hurts me. It hurts because we are also a country going through a transitional phase.
A country that values people, yet at the same time envies others. Still, talking about Cristiano Ronaldo should never become something annoying.
Have we really reached the point where we're criticising the man who raised our flag all around the world?
I have friends in the United States who sent me messages after all this criticism.
They told me there were 5,000 Portugal supporters in the stands. Five thousand Portuguese fans.
As for the rest, they were all wearing the number seven shirt.
Because every time Cristiano touched the ball, it felt like a goal was about to happen.
Why am I saying this? Because while we're talking about Cristiano at 41 years old, we're still expecting him to be that Cristiano who dribbles past everyone, starts attacks, finishes them, and is everywhere on the pitch.
Touching the ball, dribbling, and doing everything himself.
Come on, people. He plays as a centre-forward. He needs players to supply him with chances.
And we have players like Vitinha, Bruno Fernandes, João Neves, Pedro Neto, Rafael Leão, João Félix and Gonçalo Inácio. And after all that, you still have the nerve to criticise Cristiano?
This is starting to make me angry. The same old narrative repeated by commentators and people who have never kicked a ball in their lives.
They don't know what it feels like to experience the adrenaline of a match. They've never lived that experience.
They sit in chairs their whole lives, relying on their salaries, and then talk as if they are the greatest experts.
Let the national team work. Don't create noise, and don't sow instability within the federation and the national team family.
Yes, things could have been better. Things didn't go as they should have. A thousand things could have been done better. But we have elite players.
Yet whenever things don't go well and Cristiano doesn't score, the conversation immediately becomes: 'What about Messi? Look at Messi!'
First of all, Messi is three years younger than Cristiano. And when Cristiano was three years younger than he is now, pay close attention to what he was doing.
Second, if Messi had been sent off, we would be talking about his red card, not about his physical contact or performance.
Come on, people. Have some awareness. Let this final dance pass in the best possible way, with the greatest stability and unity among all the national team players.
Stop creating stories. Years ago, you were saying that everyone was forced to play for Cristiano.
Now you're saying that everyone is trying to play for Cristiano.
These are elite players. And if we have a killer inside the penalty area, a natural goalscorer, a true monster who can score at any moment, why shouldn't we play for him? What's wrong with that?
We are going to suffer a lot when Cristiano retires. We are going to suffer a lot.
And that doesn't mean diminishing the rest of the players.
Do we have quality? Yes, we do.
But nobody has the impact that Cristiano has.
And we're still waiting for someone to be born who can match that impact.
Stop. Stop. And let the national team do its work."

Speed is disappointed to see India miss out on the World Cup. 🗣️ "India got a good team... they got Virat Kohli."

@AFC_Rexzzy Yah he clam that the junior only need ball to play not team mates and he was honest

We never saw Luis Figo claiming his teammates' or juniors' goals as his own, or calling for offside when they scored.
ENOCK@Enocksmith85
Look how young Ronaldo served his elders in the Portugal team and these young guys don't even respect him😭

Yan Diomande pens an incredibly emotional tribute to his late sister 💔:
🗣️ "Everything I do on a football pitch, it’s for you.
Remember when they took me on trial at Bournemouth? At Chelsea, Rangers, Olympiacos, Crystal Palace? Eze and Olise even came up to me after one training and said, 'Yo kid, you’re really good.'
But they still didn’t sign me.
Even the B teams in the MLS didn’t want me. I didn’t even know why. They never gave me a reason. The adults handled everything. They just kept taking me all around Europe, and everybody kept saying no.
My visa was up. My dream was over. They sent me back to Africa, and we cried together.
You were the one who never stopped believing. A few weeks later, I signed for Leganés and we cried different tears.
That was back when I used to have emotions. Now, I don’t feel anything. It’s like I’m not even human. Since you died, I’m just blank.
I wrote this because I can’t speak about it. I wrote this because I want you to know that I will make sure that you live on. I will make sure that everybody knows your name. The whole world."
