It was absolutely the correct call. Here's the proof. Look at the runner, he's tucking his head down aiming to hit the catcher. Look at the umpire, he sees what the runner is about to do. This wasn't a collision. It was an illegal hit on a defenseless player. The correct play was for the runner to slide in to touch the plate instead of making a target hit. This player should be suspended from playing for the rest of the year.
