If Protestants have to lower Mary to their level, a mere “sister in Christ”, then they clearly have a problem with her. 🧵

So you are saying it’s possible for a human of their own volition and free will to be sinless; what Christ exampled had already been done through Mary and God was no better than creation That even though Mary was born of the first Adam, she had no real need of the second Adam - throwing the most of scripture out with that presupposition

She doesn’t know the Bible. Scripture never says Jesus was fully “submerged” at His baptism—only that He “came up out of the water”. The Jordan where He was baptized (Bethany beyond the Jordan) could be quite shallow. Even if knee-deep He would still have to “come out” of it. 🧵

This isn't that hard to understand. Pagan idols depict pagan gods, and Christian statues or icons depict Christ and His saints. They are not the same.

Nice try, but that list confuses miracle with veneration. Scripture records times when God used an object in a miracle. It does not give a standing pattern of praying to objects, kissing them, bowing before them, or using them as devotional aids. In fact, when a God-given object became that kind of devotional snare, Hezekiah destroyed it: 2 Kings 18:4. So the Bible’s pattern is: God may use what He wants. Man does not get to turn that into a relic cult.

If they want scripture, give them scripture. Relics in scripture: Old Testament 2 Kings 13:20–21: A dead man comes back to life when he touches the bones of Elisha. 2 Kings 2:13–14: Elisha uses Elijah’s mantle to part the Jordan River. Exodus 7:9–12: Aaron’s staff turns into a serpent before Pharaoh. Numbers 17:1–10: Aaron’s rod buds, blossoms, and produces almonds as a sign from God. Exodus 30:22–29: Holy oil and sacred objects are set apart for God’s work. Exodus 25:10–22: The Ark of the Covenant is treated as holy, holding sacred items like the tablets of the Law, manna, and Aaron’s rod. New Testament Matthew 9:20–22: A woman is healed just by touching the hem of Jesus’ garment. Mark 5:25–29: Again, touching Jesus’ clothing brings healing. Mark 6:56: People touch even the fringe of Jesus’ cloak, and everyone who does is healed. Acts 5:15: People bring the sick into the streets so that Peter’s shadow might fall on them and heal them. Acts 19:11–12: Handkerchiefs and aprons that touched Paul are used to heal the sick and drive out evil spirits.
