Not all USB ports on your motherboard are equal. Some are connected directly to the CPU, while others are routed through the chipset. Understanding the difference can help you make better use of your USB devices. Reduce USB contention by distributing your devices across different USB controllers whenever possible. On systems used for both work and gaming, avoid connecting all USB devices to the same xHCI controller. Using your motherboard's block diagram as a reference, connect latency-sensitive devices such as your mouse and keyboard to USB ports that are connected directly to the CPU's xHCI controller. Place higher-bandwidth or less latency-sensitive devices such as USB speakers, webcams, Stream Decks, audio interfaces, capture cards, and external storage across the remaining controllers as evenly as possible. By balancing devices across available controllers, you can reduce controller congestion, avoid unnecessary bandwidth contention, improve USB stability, and ensure each device has access to the resources it needs. TL;DR: Connect your mouse and keyboard to USB ports that bypass the chipset and connect directly to the CPU's USB controller. Distribute your remaining USB devices as evenly as possible across the other controllers managed by the motherboard chipset.

Me and @CSGOAlfa are getting random 20-second black screens with audio still playing in the background. No idea what's causing it. It started for both of us around the same time, around a week ago. We're both on different GPUs (5080 / 9070 xt) Anyone else hitting this?

@xPetu I've really wanted to try this for a while now, and wanted to ask what kind of things are important in a treadmill in your opinion? Certain width or feature etc you think is good to look for in a treadmill?

A completely anecdotal and non-scientific pros-and-cons analysis of gaming ergonomics: Chairs: + stable mouse hand - can be worse for breathing and voice control (diaphragm can't extend fully, matters for a streamer) - hip flexor and hamstring stiffness/weakness (and many other musculoskeletal issues) - highest inertia (easy to keep brain-rotting/tilt-queueing/doomscrolling) Standing: + stable mouse hand + less inertia to take a break - lower back aches (can’t maintain good posture during long sessions) ℹ️need good antifatigue mat Treadmill: + very few musculoskeletal issues or aches + least inertia to take a break + hands aren't as cold in the Finnish winter - minor vertigo symptoms after playing for many hours (from looking at stationary screen while moving yourself) - slightly less stable (but didn't matter for my performance) ℹ️use low speeds (1-2kmh) the only thing I haven't tried yet is a slant board when standing, I read good things about it so might have to try

Office chairs are a disease. I switched to a treadmill-only setup 8 months ago; best decision I've ever made. I reached EUW Challenger in League while walking every game. Adaptation takes a few weeks, first ARAM I played I got a Passive reset on Jinx and ran into my desk. If you have multiple monitors, they need to be vertically stacked to avoid neck problems (side monitor = bad). I found that placing the secondary monitor below the main monitor is the only functional way, as above eye-level focus leads to headaches for me. My focus speed is 1.0-1.5 km/h, which may seem slow, but the whole point is to keep your body in motion. In my experience, any prolonged inactive state (sitting/standing/leaning) always leads to some physical discomfort. Constant motion is the only cure. My all-time favorite setup: - 27 inch QHD main monitor - 24 inch FHD secondary monitor - Dygma Raise split keyboard with extra thumb keys for camera control (F-keys) in League - Pulsar Xlite v3 Large (first mouse that fits me) - Karhu Walk Pro treadmill (not sponsored by any of these)

@forestwithout I don't think any server is guaranteed constant PvP but if you just want reps in shooting then go on a deathmatch server. It's a small area and u spawn with full gear and it's just shooting practice.

@forestwithout Yeah it's kinda tough for a beginner this far into the games lifespan, but considering the game hit all time peak players just a while ago, you won't be the only new player in any server.

@forestwithout Depends on how you want to play. Some servers are just for PvP where people just kill on sight. Rearmed is like this and these servers are sweaty nowadays. There are also RP and survival severs that are less sweaty but I havent played those. Dayz is pretty hard for noobs nowadays

I might do a full spoiler thread at some point but right now, if you liked the show I recommend the Tencent version. There's a 26 episode Director's Cut they released for the anniversary if you can get your hands on it, it's far better thought out and much more rigorous.

There are so many things about the Netflix adaptation that made me extremely pissed, but none more so than how hard it botched the detective's character arc - and thus, absolutely gutted the final "bugs" speech. Almost all arcs were gutted but this hurt the most.
Veteran@VeteranEMEA

So I haven't watched it yet, but the fact that the Netflix 3 Body Problem series seems to get to the same part of the plot in 5 episodes that the Chinese series does in 27 episodes - with roughly the same episode lengths - is...interesting, to say the least.
