Hey @ICPublicSafety, out of curiosity, what are the rules for doubling down on the number of "armored vehicles" to bring along when serving a warrant? And do we really need to stop at two?

@aid_ic When they suppress it, it's because it's a part of "an active investigation". When they release it, it's because it's "in the public interest". @aid_ic Yep. It's pretty customary for ICPD to supress or release body cam footage depending on whether they think it can sway public opinion in their favor.

Copy and pasting a press release without any effort to provide a more complex, fair, narrative on stories of public safety and law enforcement isn’t what reporting the news should be like “Breaking news” shouldn’t have to compromise quality journalism and fairness. Do better

This is a meaningless conjunction. In fact, as it's almost always the case, this whole press release is a farce. The fact that a police chief can preside over issuing an ass-covering PR like this one & keep their job shows far we are from anything resembling police accountability

Our guess is that the official narrative is going to be that Brown was resisting arrest and being violent herself (likely true), and that the cops did "what they had to" to restrain her/"defend" themselves, which is a pile of bull. We'll be following this.
