@BristOliver And under the UK’s marginal pricing structure, energy prices remain the highest in the industrialised world, regardless of gas usage. Under this, costs are set by the most expensive source (typically gas), even when renewables dominate. This ought to be a priority to change too…

Reminder that Ed Miliband plans to have no more than 5% generation from gas across the whole year. If demand was level across the year, 45% of generation being from gas in November means that we'd be up to 3.75% of the year's generation being from gas in one month alone.
