Eyal has contributed greatly to ISM and we are very grateful for that. On behalf of the Israel Society for Microscopy, we send our condolences to Eyal’s family.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our colleague Eyal Shimoni. Eyal passed away this morning after a serious illness. Eyal was part of the ISM board for many years and served as the secretary and chair of ISM between the years 2009-2017.

Cornell Engineering is deeply saddened to share the news that Professor Lena F. Kourkoutis, Ph.D. ’09, who was internationally recognized for her advances in cryo-electron microscopy, passed away on June 24. news.cornell.edu/stories/2023/0…

The 56th Annual Meeting of the Israel Society for Microscopy will be held on May 23rd, 2023 at the Binyanei Hauma - ICC, Jerusalem. The meeting will be preceded by a tutorial workshop on "Image Processing in Microscopy" on May 22nd at the Faculty of Agriculture in Rehovot.
