Does anyone know much about PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance)? Is it a Co-morbid disorder that comes with ADHD? If there’s anyone, especially parents with experience of it in their own child/teen, who could offer any advice, pls get in touch. #Misunderstood #ADHD #PDA

Woke up this morning feeling very blessed to be disabled - I reckon my parents are pretty happy about it too. Feeling sorry for us and our families doesn’t help. Treating us equally, and giving us the choice and control over our own lives does

1/2 As an #ActuallyAutistic PDAer, I wish parents of PDA children would understand that hyper independence is an ableist capitalistic norm. Teaching a child to ignore their limits, bc u fear their adult dependency = much more detrimental to them than letting go of NT expectations

Yes. We urgently need better support for autistic people. You know what doesn't do any of that? Trying to subgroup autistic people. Subgrouping dehumanizes us. It makes other people treat us like a series of traits and deficits rather than as whole human beings.
