The House floor vote didn't quite go our way, but the fight's not over yet.
Start contacting your Senators and tell them to oppose the KIDS Act, and if that doesn't work, this package can still be stopped in court like what happened with the CDA of 1996 and COPA.

The House just passed the KIDS Act. While the bill preserves many of KOSA's strongest child safety reforms, it also includes provisions that reduce privacy, limit useful online services, and won't meaningfully improve child safety.

It’s honestly stunning that we got 117 ‘no’ votes on a surveillance bill designed to be hard to vote against (‘you voted to HARM KIDS!’ can be a death blow to politicians even today)

@Noob326 has to go through the Senate again. They aren't too happy with house's KOSA. If I'm understanding correctly they don't like the KIDS act neither. Plus if it would pass. Netchoice, CCIA and etc are on our side and will take it to the court

Even If KOSA does pass tomorrow there’s still a few hurdles till it reaches the table, so don’t panic if it does! Call your reps, spam their emails yknow the drill!!

@TheJevil2005 not yet. Still needs to go through the Senate. They don't like the house's KOSA. From my understanding they don't like the KIDS act neither. If all fails. Netchoice, FIRE or another group. (hopefully all of em as a group.) Will take it the court

It still has to pass senate. Keep calling, keep signing, keep fighting. The senate is a high bar to pass, so if we keep trying, we can win back the internet.

Here’s the roll call of members of Congress who betrayed the Constitution and the American people by voting yes on the KIDS Act.
The sickest part is that these people used “protecting kids” as an excuse to further insert government between parents and their children—all while establishing a surveillance infrastructure to monitor and control Americans of all ages.

Just because KOSA passed house, does NOT mean it’s immediately law
Look, I’m upset too.
But It has passed before, but it didn’t make it through. It violates 1A and 4A. Unless the United States is REALLY that stupid, it won’t pass.
