The 2 common reasons we see Bitcoin Core maintainers leave the position: 1) Removed for inactivity / suspicious behavior. 2) Resign because they're exhausted from threats. I truly believe that maintainers (and any regular contributors) would be better off staying anonymous.

Every Lightning transaction is _literally_ a Bitcoin transaction: the underlying HTLC is implemented by offering your counterparty a signed Bitcoin transaction that would allow them to collect money on-chain if needed.

As of today There is simply too much unknown legal risk of potentially hosting illegal non monetary content in your local mempool due to op return limits being removed. I would not upgrade until the default 80 byte limit is restored. Worse, That this is being done with no written plausible technical justification has only sown distrust in larger bitcoin community. A $2 trillion asset of global import deserves more professional competent stewardship

@UnderCoercion I tend to agree, I do however like using Shamir backup. This removes the single backup being discovered problem. Combine that with a pin and password protected Trezor and you are in pretty good shape!
