Just got off phone with Jeff Moe, guard for 1987 Iowa basketball team. He literally today just closed on buying the Whistle Stop Inn bar in downtown Indianapolis, across street from Lucas Oil Stadium. If Iowa gets to Final Four, "this place will be Hawkeye Central" next week.

@CubHawk44 @HOFJFKGolfCoach Along with the disappointment of how the 1985 Iowa football season ended, that UNLV loss was truly my indoctrination into Hawkeye heartache. I cried and shot baskets in my driveway for hours after the game was over. I wasn't ready for that magical season to end! 🖤💛

Ben McCollum will be talked about when blue blood opportunities become open. He was just on Pat McAfee’s show and was asked about the Curt Cignetti comparisons. He complimented him a few times but also said: I’m more of a Kirk Ferentz fan. I’d rather be compared to him. No offense to Cignetti, he’s obviously a fantastic coach” Kirk Ferentz has been at Iowa since the 1999 season.

Iowa was once a team that seemed unable to get over the hump in close games. That narrative has completely flipped on its head in the NCAA Tournament.
