Liberals are absolutely FURIOUS that a father told his children to stop disrespecting “his wife”.. I saw nothing wrong with this interaction.

ANGRY YOUNG WOMEN by @emilylawford and @Scarlett__Mag It was a Wednesday night and seven members of the University of Leeds’ feminist society had invited me to join their book swap. I asked how they felt about the young men they knew. “I don’t care for them,” said a girl called Ruby imperiously. “They’re not bad people, but they refuse to call out their friends who make other girls uncomfortable. They’ll laugh at jokes that are sexist, racist, homophobic, they don’t care about political issues… I don’t think they like women a lot.” If a man is attracted to you, she said, he might talk about things like toxic misogyny. If he doesn’t fancy you, he won’t bother. “I feel like a lot of it is quite sexually motivated with men.” I asked if they’d consider dating a man with different political views. They all immediately said no. “I don’t think I’d even be friends with one,” said one girl. “They don’t see you as human.” Only one woman, Evelyn, admitted to having male friends (though she was worried this made her a “pick me”, trying too hard for male attention). Evelyn was concerned about what the men she knew were watching online. “The stuff that’s being said about women is crazy,” she said. “They’re getting all these reels, talking about, like, bad stuff about women. And I get reels of women saying bad stuff about men. I try to think, not all men are like this, but…” On the internet, women and men have never been more alienated from each other. While the toxic, often hard-right politics of the manosphere have been exhaustively documented, the new generation of female influencers are nearly as extreme – just on the other side of the political spectrum. The “femosphere” spans a range of tones: there are misandrist dating coaches who urge women to reject men altogether, and more explicitly progressive content creators who cover global and domestic politics. Exclusive polling by Merlin Strategy for the New Statesman reveals that young women, aged between 18 and 30, are by far the most progressive demographic in the UK. Young women are 26 percentage points less likely to feel positively about capitalism than young men, and much less likely to feel the economy works in their favour. Gen Z women are more likely to support causes such as feminism, environmentalism and anti-racism than young men. They also feel much more negatively towards young men than young men feel about them. I spent the last few months in search of the new left-wing young women. It wasn’t difficult – they were everywhere. But it all felt impossibly bleak. They weren’t excited about their futures. They didn’t like the men they knew, or the idea of those they didn’t. Men were just a threat who had the potential to harm or trap them. This will almost certainly make relationships harder: fewer than half of young women feel men understand them. Young women are much less likely than men to date people who disagree with their politics. People will get lonelier, and angrier. Young women are twice as likely to not want children as young men. And it’s getting worse. Women under 25 are most likely to believe things are “stacked against me, no matter how hard I try”. A significant majority of young women feel isolated from the rest of the country. The two main political parties aren’t reaching out to them specifically. Many women told me they feared a Reform government pressuring them to have babies. Many say they will vote for the Greens in the upcoming local elections, but few seem to believe that will make a difference. They don’t feel represented by mainstream politics, and they don’t think anyone cares. Cover art by Carl Godfrey

A close relative of mine desperately wants a boyfriend and to have children. She's now in her late 20's and has just about given up on online dating. She'd rather meet a bear in the woods than a man. She can't see the connection between her views on men and her lonely singledom. I'm called uncaring if I point it out. Tragic, tragic, tragic.

@runandretire @UziCryptoo So you think that people are exposed to children, as we all are, but somehow that experience is overwhelmed by some sort of cultural message, in spite of the fact that the overwhelming cultural message is that a normal life is a family life?

I think the bigger issue is culturally, we've allowed the voices to convince people the kids are shit to ring loudest. Almost every country has a declining birthrate, and population. Too many people have drank that Kool aid. And it's wrong. Sadly, unless they do have kids, they'll simply never know.

Friend of mine is 35 years old, married and doesn’t want kids. His household income is roughly $300k/yearly and his house is nearly paid off. They invest a good portion of their income for retirement, take multiple yearly vacations and live a nice life. I think people like this are going to regret not having kids in their future. One day when he’s old all he will have to look back on is the random stuff he bought and wasted money on. Instead of putting that money towards having kids and building a family he’s choosing consumerism. This just seems so wasteful and boring to me.

My criticism is aimed towards people intentionally choosing not to have kids in order to maximize their wealth. Either way, the reality is birthrates are dropping like a rock, and universe 25 is becoming reality more and more. Anyone intentionally not having kids because of some hedonistic logic are wrong. Kids are amazing. Humanity dies wearing diapers.

My maid of honor looked at this dress I'd spent eight months waiting for and said, "That's... not a wedding dress. It's a costume." The words hit like ice water. I'd fallen in love with the embroidery after seeing the seamstress's work on the Tedooo app - she specializes in traditional dresses, and I wanted something that honored my grandmother's heritage. Every flower was hand-stitched, every hummingbird placed with intention. It cost me three months of savings and countless late-night messages about thread colors and placement. Now I'm two months from the wedding, and my entire bridal party is "gently suggesting" I find something more "classic." My mother-in-law offered to buy me a "proper" dress from David's Bridal. But when I put this on, I see my grandmother's garden, her stories about village celebrations, the culture she left behind when she immigrated. Yes, it's not a traditional white gown. Yes, people might whisper. But isn't a wedding dress supposed to make you feel like the truest version of yourself? I'm torn between keeping peace and keeping this dress that makes my heart sing every time I look at those embroidered birds.

I think what him and others fail to realize is the last 20 in years of their lives will be lonely and unfulfilling. They already experienced everything to see or do. They have no idea the level of joy, purpose, and fulfillment kids bring. It's the only legacy that actually matters. Also, literally no one will be at their funeral. Because everyone they're close to will already be dead or incompetent by the time they die.

@WhiteBabyFac Men, like women, are not all the same and want different things. It doesn't matter what "men" want if that's not what your particular man wants.

I trapped my first feral catand got it fixed on Wednesday! 🎉 The clinic thinks he's about 4 months old and advised me to release him the day after surgery.. I haven't released him yet because I feel incredibly guilty about bringing him back outside. I keep thinking I can socialize him since he's still young and lets me pet him. He's completely sent by me and hides in the corner of any bathroom we put him in. I know it's probably best to release him, but I feel terrible knowing he won't have the security, warmth, and love a house cat should have. Looking for reassurance! Any advice would be appreciated!

Or ask about guns in the house… yep. They separated me from my son at 12… he’s 21 now and I stupidly said sure! Doctor asked about guns in the house and my son loved to tell him all about my husbands, former cop, my dads, former marine and my step dads fully automatic guns they got to “play with” last time we were in TN. I got the lecture on locking them up and all kinds of shit from a brand new very liberal doctor who knew nothing about guns but “saw what they do when they’re used on kids” because he did a rotation in the ER.

This post has a quarter of a million “Likes” in 48 hours Americans are losing it realizing they work more than peasants used to work “I've actually f*cking had it with the United States of America — I gotta go to work 40 sometimes 50 hours a week only to get 2 weeks of paid vacation — peasants used to get 154 days off. I'm not even treated like a f*cking peasant” “I can't f*cking do this shit anymore.
