“Experienced” is listening and understanding and learning.
“Experienced” does not start with ego or try to act smart.
Experienced is humility, understanding the greater context, and holding these in mind during each crit.

One of the strongest things an up and coming designer could benefit from is working on their feedback skills. Remember, a lot of design is an opinion, don't let your ego or trying to sound "experienced" get in the way. Ask questions and have conversations.

Some feedback should come with a gift receipt. 🤨
Corey Quinn@QuinnyPig
"Feedback is a gift." Some gifts may be returned. Feedback is an opinion, and not all of those are good. "Why should I care about that" is a valid response.

Same holds true for early design concepts. #CritEarlyCritOften

@MakeBetterWork I think that means “facilitator,” at least in the way I was thinking.
English

Both.
Designers set expectations and share the work. Facilitators can ensure all feedback is provided and next steps are clear.

POLL! Re: DESIGN CRITIQUE Who should run it? The designer presenting their own solutions, or a separate facilitator (e.g., a program manager or design lead). I can see both sides.
