US Oil & Gas Association
Good evening Rep. Titus. Several of your constituents have asked us to respond to this post. We refer you to prior our comments to your colleague Rep. Lee. BUT with an additional addendum that others might find interesting. Roughly 88% of Nevada’s transportation fuels — including nearly 90% of Southern Nevada’s supply and the Las Vegas area via the Calnev Pipeline — comes from California refineries. With CA Democrat energy policy forcing the closure of major facilities, this dependency will mean higher prices & tighter supply ahead. Nevada has virtually ZERO gasoline refining capacity of its own. Just as Asian and European countries are learning that it is unwise to let their economies be vulnerable foreign geographic choke points -- We recommend Nevada decouple itself from CA energy policy as soon as possible. Now having said that - allow us to also point out a number of votes you have cast which exacerbated this situation Nevadans now find themselves in. Here are just 5 examples: 1. NAY on H.R. 1 — Lower Energy Costs Act (2023). This bill boosted domestic oil/gas production & cut red tape to lower prices. You voted no. It passed 225-204. 2. NAY on rolling back the Methane Polluter Fee. This tax raised producer costs passed to consumers at the pump. Opposing rollback kept it in place. 3. NAY on attacking critical oil & gas leasing reforms (2024). Your vote helped preserve limits on new federal leases, reducing supply growth. 4. NAY on undermining federal blocks on LNG exports (2024). Maintained uncertainty that discourages production & raises domestic fuel costs. 5. NAY on rushing pipeline review & coordination (2025). Opposed faster approvals that would cut delays & bottlenecks for moving fuel efficiently. We think it is important to remind you that you have been consistent in opposing more drilling, leasing, LNG & pipelines. This is not helpful in producing more energy for Nevadans. We respectfully ask that you not do that any more.
Dina Titus@repdinatitus

In less than a month, gas prices have rapidly increased #OnlyInDistrictOne thanks to @POTUS’s war in Iran. Just look at the difference in costs at the gas station behind my district office between March 17 and April 2. ⬇️

From Martin Iles, reposted: Having lived in the USA for nearly two years, I've realised something. The USA and the remainder of the Western world are no longer aligned. We all laugh and mock when the Americans say, "Freedom!" because we truly think we're as free as they are. Wrong. We're not. Not even close. The laws, the mindset, and the behaviour, is totally different in this regard. Most of all, the governments are totally different. The USA's convictions around core freedoms are on a scale we do not share. Meanwhile, Donald Trump wins the popular vote, the electoral college, the House, and the Senate... a man who, in every other Western country, is held in open derision, if not contempt. For these and other reasons, we are not the same. Yet the West, including Australia, fully expect to rely on the USA for our very survival. If the world turns bad (which will happen - only a question of time), then the whole West, without America, is toast. So, you may ask - if we're not very aligned ideologically, then it must be that we bring something to the party militarily? Well, no... actually... we don't matter that much militarily. The USA has about 470 ships in its navy, including 11 aircraft carriers, 69 submarines, 75 destroyers... plus 110 new ships in the pipeline. Australia has about 30, including 3 destroyers, 7 frigates and 7 outdated submarines. The UK does a little better, with about 60. Meanwhile, the US has over 14,000 military aircraft. A staggering number. Australia has 252 military aircraft. The UK has 556. The US army has just shy of 1,000,000 uniformed personnel in its military. Australia has about 45,000. The USA spends 3.4% ($968 billion) of its GDP on defence. Australia spends 2% ($36.4 billion). The US spends as much as the next 15 largest military-spending countries (including China) combined. The USA has a fighting culture. The men shoot things (a lot) and hunt things, the veterans get favoured in everything from parking spots to boarding planes. A uniformed young man is thanked in the street a dozen times a day. "Oh, the Americans and their guns!" we say, in our smug way. Yes, they have a warrior culture. We do not. We don't have to, because we're a leech on theirs. How many young British men are willing to fight for their country? Now ask the same regarding young American men. The difference is about as wide as it could be. Militarily, we don't offer squat. Meanwhile, look at the way Australia works against America's interests by loving on China. China made us rich and we stay close. This is a Marxist regime with expansionist aims. Again, you have to spend time in the USA to realise just how vast a gulf there is between us on China. Europe, too. They let China have their way everywhere from Germany to Greenland, all the while importing Islam and sending their own people to court for saying hurty words. Somehow, we have landed the deal of a lifetime with the USA that says, "when the baddies come, you'll save us ok?" Because we can't save ourselves. And we live in peace. But we keep gnawing away at freedoms, keep enabling China, and get flabby and disinterested about our military because Uncle Sam's got it. And, let's be honest, Americans are widely looked down on. To add insult to injury, we don't think that highly of our protectors. So, the USA is finally saying "enough." I am here, I can tell you what the vibe is, and that's it. Trump is doing what people want in this regard. They're over it. And we come across all shocked and hard done by. We behave like people with no self-insight at all. Yes, the global alliance system is all over the place now. From America's perspective, it's about time. And I must say, though I be a proud Australian, I am forced to agree. Something has to change.

Property taxes went up? Don’t just pay the bill—check it. It’s your RIGHT. File a data request with your County Administrator: • Where exactly is every dollar going? • What new positions were added (titles + salaries)? • Which contracts were approved, amounts, and changes from original bids? • Who are the vendors—and how were they selected? • Any no-bid, amended, or emergency contracts? • What outcomes/results are tied to this spending? This is public money. Demand answers. Demand receipts.

Norm Eisen said his state lawfare, having attorneys disbarred, and using the 14A to get Trump removed from ballots flowed from the work of the sham J6 commitee. That is the same January 6 committee that deleted or lost one terabyte of digital data, 900 interview summaries/transcripts, and deposition videos. They also failed to provide passwords to over 100 encrypted documents. The new Trump AG must establish a January 6 task force, with one of its mandates being to identify who deleted evidence and prosecute all those responsible.

In FDA's defense, which I rarely offer, they are not charged with market protection or commerce decisions It will be fun to watch Novo scored big with their first-to-launch tablet. Their R&D guys must have been busting their asses with mngt screaming down their necks. Beating Lilly to orals in the US is something approaching existential.

@Moleculemachine @cremieuxrecueil As long as regulatory and agency capture exist they can play that game. I see that the FDA is doing the yeomen's work of protecting us from the gray market. 😂

The FDA has approved an even better oral GLP-1 than Novo's Wegovy pill. They've now approved Eli Lilly's much more convenient and efficacious orforglipron. The era of obesity will soon be behind us!

Absolutely they will. If I imagine myself in the insurers' seat, why would I pay for future health benefits (reduced cost) when that benefit will likely be realized by a competitor when that patient changes plans. Lilly thoroughly thought through their indication vis-a-vis reimbursement, without doubt If they cash pay $250 or under, they may get substantial market share (but what do I know)

@Moleculemachine @cremieuxrecueil My point was off the cuff, but what I mean in general is that insurance companies will use gatekeeping mechanisms so that patients will have to turn to cash alternatives. My own insurance company is still gatekeeping GLP using outdated rules that their board finds appropriate.

Perhaps, but it's not indicated for the treatment of diabetes. Would be unusual to restrict to an unlabeled use. - INDICATIONS AND USAGE --------------------------- FOUNDAYO™ is a GLP-1 receptor agonist indicated in combination with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity to reduce excess body weight and maintain weight reduction long term in adults with obesity or adults with overweight in the presence of at least one weight-related comorbid condition. (1) Limitations of Use Concomitant use with another GLP-1 receptor agonist is not recommended. (1)

This was exactly the purpose of Obama's nuclear deal — to buy the Iranians enough time to enter the zone of immunity.
Gummi@gummibear737

Iran was trying to use the North Korean model to get a nuke: create sufficient conventional deterrence so you won’t be challenged in acquiring one (it’s called the Seoul Hostage Problem). This has been explained over and over since day one. Everyone claiming shifting goalposts or no imminent threat has been lying. The reason North Korea was allowed to get nukes is because Seoul (and its 10 million inhabitants) is within artillery and rocket range of North Korea. During the 1994 nuclear crisis, the Clinton administration seriously considered airstrikes on North Korea’s Yongbyon reactor but backed off precisely because of the artillery threat to Seoul. Iran was trying to accomplish the same by stockpiling missiles and drones which would have had the same deterrent effect. The proof is what Iran has been doing in the past month: attacking all its neighbors in order to pressure the US to stop attacking it Beyond this, they were building medium-range ballistic missiles that could reach Paris and London, meaning all of Europe could be held hostage as they built a nuclear bomb. The reason Iran has not built a nuclear weapon until now is not because it couldn’t, but because it knew it would be attacked and denied this capability. So by allowing them to continue developing this conventional deterrence, you would be allowing Iran to get a nuclear weapon. And unlike North Korea, Iran is led by an eschatological death cult Reagan saw nuclear mutually assured destruction (MAD) as both morally bankrupt (because of the innocent-body-count problem) and dangerously fragile because it assumed flawless rationality between adversaries…this means it only takes one irrational actor to destroy the world. Working backwards from the conclusion that Iran’s Islamist regime must never have a nuclear weapon, it was necessary for the US to attack Iran to deny it the conventional capacity to hold the entire eastern hemisphere hostage. Every European leader knows this and behind the scenes praises the US for this action. But they are cowards, held hostage by their own internal Muslim populations, and so adopt these ridiculous public positions. This was never about Israel. And if your argument is that Iran should be allowed to get a nuclear weapon then you are a fool and a traitor to western civilization…you’re a useful idiot
