What is the stand of the US and UK based Dawah Mafia (and their B- and C-tier enablers) on the Iran war?
These are Sunnis who tend toward liberalism and feminism, but they larp as traditionalists. Many of them are post-Wahhabi, but they're scared to death of crossing Wahhabis, so they steer clear of direct conflict with that group. Wahhabis also don't view them as a threat, so they don't bother refuting the main Dawah Mafia figures.
These are people who spent much of the last decade promoting LGBT rights and Ilhan Omar, and absolutely hated me for pointing out their hypocrisy.
These are people who were dead silent when the Taliban kicked out the US invaders, and privately were against it because "muh women's education."
They are "pro-Palestine" as long as it doesn't cost them anything politically or socially. That's why they'll only say "Zionist" and never "Jew" lest they offend their interfaith friends and partners.
They were really excited about Goylani just last year, calling it "Blessed Revolution" and crashed out at me when I rang the alarm, but have been awfully quiet about Syria lately.
Now, in this war, they won't say anything about Iran or Sunni-Shia unity. In fact, they're secretly horrified at the amount of support Iran is getting from the Sunni masses and the rest of the world.
They've been coping with their insecurity by calling Iran a "paper tiger" and claiming Iran can never be redeemed because of backing Asad in Syria (the US, Russia, and other states who did proxy wars in Syria can be redeemed though). You never heard them defend Yemen, even though a comparable number of Muslims were being starved to death there in the same time period. Why? Because Saudi and other Gulf countries were the ones killing Yemenis and they didn't want to lose their ability to sell highly lucrative Hajj and Umrah packages. That's literally the reason.
In reality, these are mentally colonized people who wear a keffiyeh to larp as pro-resistance. They don't want to see the US-Israel-dominant status quo end. In fact, they want to have a comfortable alliance with it for the simple reason that, deep down, they are in favor of a fundamentally liberal world order. They believe that such a world order has a place for Islam and Muslims, and that is the entirety of their "Dawah" for the past 25 years: to carve a niche for themselves as model minorities within the hegemon.
They are reeling in the same way and for the same reason that certain Gulf and West Asian countries have been floundering since Oct 7th. These countries were slowly inching toward Israel normalization, always giving lip service to the "Palestinian cause," of course. But Palestine took matters into its own hands and laid bare the hypocrisy of all these parties.
I detest these unprincipled, cowardly pretenders. I have been battling them for over a decade. Many of you have recognized who they are. It is now more obvious than ever.
