Good for Wizards! (Yes, you read that correctly!) WotC allegedly sent unionizing employees a letter warning that current benefits and perks would go on the bargaining table. Was political ideology potentially losing bennies? When you play on hardcore mode, there are risks.

DMs, if you want to throw a horde of 150 zombies at your DnD party, the easiest way is to clump them in groups of 5 or 10 and run them using swarm rules. Turn 10 zombies into 1 zombie swarm.

@OriginalGrogna1 I don't use a DM screen because I don't like things between me and my players.
The purpose of a DM screen is to hide things from players, but I can hide notes and minis in other ways. And I roll in the open.

Most stories have one main character. D&D parties don't.
So do adventuring groups represent composite characters, where each class is one element of a whole psyche? Like the 100 acre wood or the Inside-Out emotions?

The real issue is that WotC is trying to entice bystanders who have never played any game that requires agency, and it does so by making a shiny but watered-down game.
