88 percent of millionaires went to college. 70-80 percent of billionaires have at least a college degree. So it seems like something is there in college that’s worth it? Trade school is more than fine, but the bigger issue is this widespread campaign to convince young Black men that college isn’t for them. You’re effectively promoting disenfranchisement. College isn’t just about the money that can be made, but overall enrichment and experience. The reason college costs so much now is because Ronald Reagan believed colleges were promoting radicalism and “filth” (sound familiar?) because the students saw through the bullshit so as California Governor, he dismantled the public higher education system and that became the model for the nation. Reagan’s education czar also wanted college to be less accessible to low-income people because they wanted a permanent underclass and didn’t want Blacks and Latinos having such easy access to upward mobility. So it seems if it’s this much of a designed effort to keep you out of college or to convince you college isn’t worth it — maybe your ass should go to college.
