In 2018-2019 Kyle Lowry pushed the Raptors to sign Vince Carter. In fact, he was a big catalyst for Vince amending his relationship with the Raptors. As he exits the NBA, Kyle has a chance to give the Raptors one final assist. By telling his best friend that the Toronto Raptors might just be a DeMar DeRozan off the bench away from taking the Eastern Conference. Pride would have to be set aside. Discounts would have to be taken. But could you imagine DeMar and Kawhi on this team next year?

Yes, Toronto, the team whose draft pick hasn't been leaked in nearly a decade is involved in a fairly public bidding war against themselves for Kawhi Leonard. The fallout of such trade discussions is the entire roster, especially Gradey Dick and Brandon Ingram going through a week of uncertainty and rumors, right as the Raptors are preparing to get everyone together for summer league down in Vegas. It begs the question. Why and how did this become so public? Because it's not the Raptors leaking information to Stein and Fischer. The answer is squarely...this is the Clippers. In their attempt to involve Dallas, Detroit, Portland, Golden State into this, they've effectively taken the private affair public like a pestilent child screaming for a toy at K Mart. It's a platitude. The NBA is a business.
