@fansincemac I don’t think so (I might also just have a bad memory), but it might be worth giving it another go. All of their infielders are key pieces of the lineup right now while left field has become a black hole in terms of both offensive and defensive production.

This isn’t a concern right now, but I think Eldridge’s eventual career is in left field.

FWIW the Giants likely were not going to be able to keep Dominic Smith, Bryce Eldridge, and Rafael Devers on the same roster. Smith has not played in the outfield for a few years, and there is a pretty good reason why. If the Giants re-signed Smith, as soon as Eldridge...

@BaseballJeff1 I just think we've seen his arm as a pitcher. He might need to work on the nuances a bit, but it allows Devers to stay at 1B where he clearly prefers playing while also preventing Eldridge from becoming just a DH. Schmitt also gets to stay in the lineup as a result.

This is the spot where home runs matter. You can flip the script of the game in an instant with one pitch. Small ball is a lot harder to sustain, especially with so many strikeout-heavy hitters.

I hate to sound like a broken record but in all seriousness.. what value does Patrick Bailey bring to the @SFGiants? 5 for 12 on ABS challenges, 1 for 12 on steal attempts with one error. 6 singles on the year in 44 AB’s with 1 RBI and 0 XBH, .158 BA with an WRC+ under 10… etc..

The Giants are 10th in batting average, 9th in hits, and 8th in doubles. The flip side of that is that they’re 30th in home runs, 26th in OPS, and 5th on runners left on base. The power bats (Devers/Adames/Chapman/Ramos) need to start hitting like power bats.
