Years ago I saw that the United States opened free nursing schools in the Philippines, giving the US-equivalent credentials. Then our government started importing them to work in US hospitals. Those free nursing schools should have been in Mississippi or Louisiana.

I am thankful that smart, accomplished women like Erika and Karoline (who have lots of life options) are using the skills and talents God gave them to help save America. There is a lot of noise lately criticizing women in politics, government and advocacy for not staying home with their children, but let’s get one thing straight: We are at war in this country. History shows us that when the survival of the nation is at stake, American women have always answered the call. We remember the Rosie the Riveters of WWII who left their kitchens and nurseries for the factories because the front lines demanded it. They didn't do it because they wanted to be away from their families; they did it because if the war was lost, there would be no home to return to. In a perfect world, every mother would have the peace and security to stay home and nurture her children without the weight of the world on her shoulders. But we don't live in a perfect world right now. You don't stay in the nursery when the front door is being kicked in. You pick up the shield and hold the entry. To @MrsErikaKirk @karolineleavitt and every other working mom out there balancing the heavy burden of the home and the front lines: Thank you for fighting. You are following in the footsteps of every brave American woman who refused to watch her children's future be stolen while she sat on the sidelines. I hope for a day very soon where this level of sacrifice isn't necessary and every mother can return to the peace of her home. I hope for a day where the battle is won and we can go back to the way things should be. But until that day comes, thank you for having the courage to do what must be done for all of our families. Except for the people that couldn’t do it with just the willpower you claim fixes every damn thing. And it doesn’t. I am a competitive endurance athlete. I know how to use calories and fasting and weights and willpower. But you are holier than thou telling everyone that because it worked for you, there must be no medical reason why it doesn’t work for everyone, not even people who have degrees in nutrition and exercise performance

Daycare ruined my kid's eating habits. He only wanted processed crap food and stopped eating anything homemade. He's 12 and still won't eat homemade food unless it's homemade pizza, bread or dessert. No lasagna. No spaghetti. Not even homemade Mac and cheese. My husband has a culinary degree and we both have a combined 15 years of food service experience. Doesn't matter. This was him eating my lasagna a week into daycare and he has refused it ever since.
