Esports Nations Cup@ENC_EN
Forget everything you know about esports. After reviewing more than 600 applications, we've selected over 100 National Team Partners to step up and unite their nation's greatest players under one banner for the Esports Nations Cup. The countdown to November has begun. Who are you backing?
English

@Dr_Lucaspires @arcanamajorlol @arnoldwh One should look at the entire sequence of events rather than grasping at straws. If an imperfect person is one who gets to abuse and mock an innocent and then be granted clemency for apologizing only after they get public backlash, then we should all strive to be perfect.
English

@RandomRequeim @arcanamajorlol @arnoldwh It seems you don't recognize the value in regretting or apologizing - it seems that for you, every action is beyond repair - I sometimes have attitudes that I regret, and I hope people see me for the imperfect person I am.
English

I'm seeing some claims being made and...has anyone asked @arnoldwh if it's true that the streamer in question contacted him and was told that the digs at Chovy and the inclusion of the GenG popcorn bucket - which apparently stands for 'choker' in Brazilian circles - were fine?

English

@Fuji_Mitsuki @chovys_ Mockery is fine as long as its an internal thing with the person being mocked unaware of it and the person praises him first?
English

@chovys_ The popcorn was so internal joke that it would've been fine, especially cause he spent the 10 min waiting for Riot's translator hyping Chovy up and asking for chat to send love. That tweet was really the moment where he crossed the line in the most stupid way possible.
English

@Fuji_Mitsuki @arnoldwh Its not a joke if your recipient can't understand it. The interview was basically a set up for him to mock Chovy which was proven with the tweets afterward and that he lamented that he didn't get to do his entire set up. Its not a misunderstanding gone awry, its malicious mockery
English

@RandomRequeim @arnoldwh While yes, the joke was horrible, half of the interview he was hyping chat and asking them to send love for Chovy. It really just seems like he is too much of a manchild to understand consequences. (which is also bad but in a different way)
English

First, thank you to the fans in Brazil for the incredible support. It’s amazing to see fans who couldn’t get tickets still wait outside in the sun for hours just for a chance to see their favorite players.
Regarding the situation: the streamer reached out to apologize to Chovy. We were clear to him that this crossed the line which he acknowledged as this wasn’t fair play or banter given the language barrier, and that the tweet immediately after a player gives his time for an interview missed the mark, which he also agreed.
We as a team have decided we will move forward and focus on the tournament.
English

@Dr_Lucaspires @arcanamajorlol @arnoldwh He apologized after being forced to delete several tweets because of outrage/backlash. Ceo of GENG himself said that what was said and done was crossing the line. What happened was not a simple misunderstanding, it was done with malicious intent. Why are we defending it?
English

@RandomRequeim @arcanamajorlol @arnoldwh The streamer himself apologized by personally calling the CEO of GENG and Chovy. I just believe we can have more tolerance, even for each other's mistakes, because misunderstandings can happen.
English

@chobiseukit Is it self awareness when you have to delete multiple tweets because you keep getting flamed over your actions? Apology this late just seems like an attempt to sweep the initial action under the rug.
English

@Dr_Lucaspires @arcanamajorlol @arnoldwh Sorry I guess we forgot chovy was Brazilian and was not only fluent in portugese but also aware of the slang jokes.
English

@RandomRequeim @arcanamajorlol @arnoldwh Brazilians have a playful sense of humor; in that same stream, there are participants who are GenG fans and one who is a T1 fan. They tease each other with jokes, but in the end, we know they're just jokes, and everyone there respects both teams.
English

@martinsvitor__ @arnoldwh Then take it out on those randoms? What does an interview on an international stage have to do with that nonsense?
English

@Guilher76515352 @arnoldwh @arcanamajorlol He said the interview content/banter was fine w/ geng before he clowned on chovy. Arnold said they weren't told any specifics. Calling arnold afterwards is just covering up since he deleted tweets, why is posting an apology so hard? Its because its an admission of fault/guilt
English

@RandomRequeim @arnoldwh @arcanamajorlol he talk with Arnold AFTER this. You don't even know the order of events, you just want to cause trouble.
English

@Guilher76515352 @arnoldwh @arcanamajorlol He made multiple tweets that he then deleted. He also said he spoke with Arnold about it but Arnold said nothing was communicated. Why is asking for a public apology for someone who has misrepresented information "trouble"? Don't want to apologize or dont want to admit fault?
English

@RandomRequeim @arnoldwh @arcanamajorlol what more you want? he call Arnold and apology and talk for ALL people in his stream. Shut up, you just wanna make trouble.
English

@Dr_Lucaspires @arcanamajorlol @arnoldwh When you mock a person with jokes they don't know in a language they can't speak, its just being passionate?
English

@arcanamajorlol @arnoldwh No Brazilian in this stream intends to belittle or offend anyone; they are simply people passionate about League of Legends.
English

@lucashidalgo97 @Guilher76515352 @arnoldwh @arcanamajorlol They are considered jokes because everyone can understand them. It doesn't apply to this situation. He doesn't speak the language, he doesn't know the local "jokes". He was unaware that he was being clowned on or bantered with. That's not culture, that's depravity.
English

@RandomRequeim @Guilher76515352 @arnoldwh @arcanamajorlol This only shows how much you don’t understand our culture, those jokes are what creates the narratives that makes us so passionate about sports. No one finds them offensive, they are the ones visiting our country. The definition of character is based on the culture.
English

@Guilher76515352 @arnoldwh @arcanamajorlol A formal apology is his blood? If its not that serious why not just put one up on his twitter?
English

@RandomRequeim @arnoldwh @arcanamajorlol And he already apologized publicly, what more do you want over a "joke"? His blood? Come on, it's not that serious.
English

@lucashidalgo97 @Guilher76515352 @arnoldwh @arcanamajorlol Poor in character does mean poor in the "correct manners".
If you find it offensive, I'll just quote the OP:
It was a joke, we joke like that all the time. You might not find it funny but its still just joke, don't get mad over it.
English

@RandomRequeim @Guilher76515352 @arnoldwh @arcanamajorlol Because he grew up poor he didn’t got the “correct” manners? You really don’t understand anything about Brazil.
English

@giovrolo @arnoldwh @arcanamajorlol @taylolxd @esACarry Its a joke because we find it funny, even if its rude and an insult to the person because they can't understand it. Don't get mad for being humiliated on stream, its just a joke. Weird way of showing respect, this will hurt other br streamers
English

@arnoldwh @arcanamajorlol Baiano is the biggest fan of faker and T1, but he just kidding with Canyon and GenG, bcs is our humour, it's not personal or something, is just a joke, and the same sense of humor of Baiano, we have @taylolxd @esACarry and other streamers with love so much GenG +
English

@Guilher76515352 @arnoldwh @arcanamajorlol A joke about someone that they can't understand isn't a joke with them, its a joke at their expense. Apparently he grew up poor so probably bad upbringing about basic manners and courtesy. He should probably apologize publicly
English

@arnoldwh @arcanamajorlol Sorry Arnold, we brazilians really LOVE GEN.G and Chovy and all players. Baiano love chovy and geng, it was just meant to be a joke and we joke like that with all Brazilian teams, but we understand that Korea might not find it funny like we do, once again, please forgive us❤️🇧🇷🇰🇷
English

@Benegripe3 @arnoldwh @arcanamajorlol came across badly because of timing?
Like what , it would have been perfectly fine to do at another time?
Funny way of showing immense respect by putting someone up on a stream to humiliate them in a language they can't speak with jokes they don't get.
English

@arnoldwh @arcanamajorlol I think it came across badly because of the timing of the joke, but the Baiano is a really good person and he didn't mean any harm.
He will certainly apologize and make amends for going too far.
He has immense respect for Geng and Chovy for everything you represent.
English

@squirrelhaya @tttttyuc Were there other streams with some concerning topics of discussion recently to warrant a "here we go again?" ? What's wrong with asking ?
English

@RandomRequeim @tttttyuc There are plenty of problematic eSports players out there but the first thing you thought of when you saw this post was 🐿️??? Wtf
