This guy clearly has no idea what he's talking about. I didn't even bother reading the rest of his nonsense after he claimed the dram would disappear. EU member states aren't obliged to adopt the euro. He's obviously just parroting the Kremlin line.
Dr. Arthur Khachikyan@dr_khachikyan

The slogan "Armenia is Europe" is broadcast from every corner as a guarantee of wealth and prosperity. But have you ever considered the real price we will have to pay for this one-way ticket? Behind the beautiful slogans hides an economic disaster. I am Arthur Khachikyan, and in this video, I take off the rose-colored glasses to show -using dry numbers and laws—how political populism is destroying the foundation of our economy. In this video, we will analyze in detail: - Where our national currency, the dram, will disappear to, and why transitioning to the euro will make everyday life unbearably expensive for ordinary people. - How European standards and strict quotas will wipe out the Armenian farmer and put an end to our agriculture. - Why the myth of "European billions" is nothing but a beautiful facade masking debt slavery. - The energy trap: how much we will actually pay for gas if we cut old ties for the sake of new illusions. We are ready to sacrifice our sovereignty and economy just to become a pawn in someone else's geopolitical game. And the most terrifying part is that our children will be the ones paying the price for this populism. How are we being driven into an economic catastrophe to the applause of the "European dream", and why do we need the Swiss model of partnership instead of blind submission? @_M_Mountain_ In various international organisations, Armenia and Georgia are regarded as part of Eastern Europe.

Europe isn’t a monolith - there is Western, Eastern, Northern, and Southern Europe. But beyond them all lies what I call the “Forgotten Europe”: Armenia and Georgia. The massive Chronicles of Georgia statue stands as a powerful example of it.

Nikol has undermined CSTO since he took power. 1st action was against head of CSTO, than ignoring CSTO warnings and suggestions re Azeri incoming attack and weak points in Armenian army. Nikol completely ignored CSTO report and recommendations 6 months prior to 2020 war. To top it off he cancelled the 200 million contract for Pantsir and Tor systems to bolster AD and we saw how Azeri drones took control of airspace. But he masterfully twisted everything and brainwashed Armenians that it’s not his fault. He is a lying manipulator, he has been such all his life.

Just a reminder for anyone taken in by Kremlin propaganda: Armenia asked the CSTO for assistance over an incident involving its internationally recognised territory, not Karabakh. #Armenia

@agailtale I’m not claiming that Armenia didn’t provide military or other support to the Republic of Artsakh - I’m just saying that it didn’t occupy Azerbaijani territory and wasn’t a direct party to the conflict during the Second Karabakh War.

@RedFoxTruth Yeah sure, Chloe. So it’s amazing how the Armenian armed forces are having to buy loads of new military kit to replace all the stuff they lost in Azerbaijan. And how a large chunk of the Armenian state budget was allocated to NK. Get real.

@agailtale There aren’t really any major issues. The old Soviet maps are pretty precise and clearly define the borders of the Armenian and Azerbaijani SSRs. Even now, during the border delimitation process, neither side has any problems - they just follow the old maps.

@RedFoxTruth I don’t doubt that the CSTO is being hypocritical, but there are clearly issues over the exact location of the borders, hence the need for the delimitation commission.

@pauleckstein We’re talking about the internationally recognised territory of Armenia marked in red on the map, which was occupied by Azerbaijan in 2022 - except for the Artsvashen exclave, which Azerbaijan took back in 1992 (though Armenians in turn control several Azerbaijani exclaves).

@RedFoxTruth Which part of Armenian territory is still occupied by Baku?

@pauleckstein In reality, when Armenia turned to the CSTO, they knew they wouldn’t get any real help; at best, they were hoping the CSTO - of which Armenia is a member -would at least issue some verbal criticism of Azerbaijan over the occupation. But it didn’t even do that.

@RedFoxTruth The assistance was given, through diplomatic means, or is Baku still occupying the territory? NATO would handle it in a same way. So stop blaming Russia, just because you hate it and want Armenia to be „European“.

Pashinyan's guards punch an 18-year-old boy in a church. And these are the same people who ask, "How can you possibly justify this?" That question is for you - the ones who beat children in churches, who drag the parents of fallen soldiers across the floor, who spit in people's faces in the city center, who curse and threaten to "cut off ears" and "smear on the asphalt"... Lowly, street-level people who have turned our republic into a daily disgrace.

@agailtale Moreover, after the collapse of the USSR, the former republics recognised each other’s borders. Therefore, Russia’s claim that the CSTO does not know where #Armenia’s border lies due to the lack of formal delimitation is simply disingenuous and hypocritical.

@RedFoxTruth While probably an excuse, the Russians are right - Armenia has no agreed borders with Azerbaijan, partly because they had been occupying Azerbaijani territory for thirty years, partly because after 2020 they refused to sit down with Azerbaijan in a border delimitation commission.

@agailtale Most countries, both in the post-Soviet region and worldwide, don’t have fully delimited borders. That doesn’t mean they have no borders under international law. Your post just confirms how useless the CSTO has been for #Armenia.

@RedFoxTruth @melikofararat You’re not even Armenian. The last time Armenians asked your people for help, your response was “our ships can’t reach your mountains”. Now all of a sudden, because you see an opportunity to mess with Russia, you care?

@Minassian24 @melikofararat Armenia is an independent sovereign state, and the era when its leaders needed Kremlin approval to govern is over. Besides, Russia has largely lost its influence in the region and yielded it to Turkey.

Armenians are not opposed to good relations with the West. But Armenia’s geography is what it is. We must also maintain good relations with Russia and Iran. We cannot change our neighbors, and we do not have the luxury of living as an island power, insulated from the realities around us. There is nothing anti Russian or anti Western in saying that Armenia’s government must be pro Armenian. That is the core issue. The present regime is not acting in Armenia’s interest, and foreign voices do not have the right to dictate what Armenians should do in their own country. If the goal is for Armenia to survive and prosper, then no serious person should oppose balanced relations with all major powers, especially with the largest nuclear power in the world. Armenia cannot afford to become anyone’s puppet. It must act as a state that serves its own national interest.

@Minassian24 @melikofararat I agree that Armenia should maintain relations with Russia, Iran, China and others, not just the EU and the US. However, it should also build ties with Turkey and Azerbaijan — after all, unlike Russia, they are direct neighbours, just like Georgia or Iran.
