Does this silly little man not understand that Islam is a very aggressive belief system, threatening death to anyone who does not convert to Islam The Buddhists, the Taoists, the Scottish Presbyterians, the Hindus and the Sikhs and the Confucians and the Catholics don't go around shouting about beheading people they disagree with Is this too much for your tiny little brain to take in ? Oh. The doorbell rang. The police I assume...
Gad Saad@GadSaad

Indeed. Whenever Jews are attacked (typically by Muslims), it is important to redouble our efforts to fight against Islamophobia.

The moment BlueCo appoint Cesc Fàbregas as Chelsea head coach, I’ll support him from start to the end. Imagine Fàbregas as the coach, with John Terry as his assistant or part of the backroom staff. This is a dream every Chelsea fan would love to see come true.

Skopje is genuinely one of the most interesting cities in the Balkans. Layers on layers. One of the best preserved Ottoman cities in the region with a continuous Turkish-language tradition that's still intact, some of the best exampls of Interwar and Socialist Yugoslav architecture, and the waking nightmare that is the Trumpesque Neo-Baroque bullshit of Skopje 2014. It gets a lot of hate because of the Neo-Baroque shit, but it's a lot more intellectually and culturally rewarding than some other Balkan capitals that shall remain namelss (Zagreb.)

@Petteri_Mommo @Londonist That’s precisely my point. If you walk along the S Bank, you get terrific views of the buildings on the N Bank, eg Somerset House, St Paul’s, the City and the Tower.

@agailtale @Londonist And what are those views of? Most of the historic sites are on the north bank. Until fairly recently the south bank was countryside. If you strip away the cafes it´s mostly 50s concrete hellscape. No thanks.

It's now possible to walk from Westminster to the Tower entirely along the north riverbank (only straying a few metres to go beneath bridges). First time in London's history this has been possible. Details on link londonist.substack.com/p/an-historic-…

Good morning you truly scrumptious bunch of beautiful people. I just had the most perfect cycle ride from Hackney to Islington. Took about eleven minutes through lovely street after street. There were almost no people around and I saw just one car. It was how Sundays used to feel. Truly magical. Anyway, I didn’t film it so you’ll just have to imagine it. In the meantime, you’ll be able to see my route on this photo I took a while ago from a plane. You’ll also be able to see your house. If you live in London. If you live in Scotland, you’ll struggle to see it on this photo.

@neveragain499 @TerraOrBust There is - the ten year rule. Please remember that even if asylum claims are barred, the UK courts are highly unlikely to allow government to return people to Gaza, hence they will be able to stay in the UK.

So it is now the opinion of a UK court that it is "unjustifiably harsh" for a foreign student studying at a UK university, to not have their whole family come with them. Based on an ECHR interpretation. Yet again.

@neveragain499 @TerraOrBust Well, the children can attend state schools, so there’s one benefit. As to other benefits, we would need to know more about the case (PhD students can normally bring dependants, so it’s not clear why they were refused). And 100% they’ll claim asylum, which = benefits

@TerraOrBust What exactly is the issue? If someone brings 3 family members while studying, that is three people adding to the UK GDP. They don’t cost us a penny as they have no recourse to any public funds. Even for the NHS they pay the health surcharge.

It's a pointless role really because illegal migrant boat crossings will only meaningfully be reduced if pull factors are eliminated and migrants are deported. This requires legislative changes, which he has zero control over. itv.com/news/2026-03-2…

We have signed a new agreement with Nigeria to speed up the return of people with no legal right to be in the UK. This means quicker action against those who abuse our systems while keeping the process fair for those who follow the rules and come here legitimately.
