@SouthwestAir Guys, why even offer me flight options on any given date if you're just going to change everything after the fact every time I fly with you? What's the point of making me pick flight times? And, OH, this less-convenient schedule is the same price? WTF.

@SouthwestAir Then I, the inconvenienced, should be compensated when you do not deliver on the service we agreed upon when I paid you. Period. Throw me a bone here. discount my fare. Offer me priority seating. Maybe I get to meet the captain. Something more substantial than a tweet.

@eymmayeuh @noorazla @abbygov My male friends are great. We’ve all come a long way on our own. Would that we had a greater influence from our role models and the broader culture at large when we were younger.

I did a celibacy pledge in 2018 where I was like “I’m only gonna have sex with guys that care about me” and it was a very quick way to learn that men do not care about me

Let me try and draw a distinction: Feminism (big F) being formal organizations like NOW. feminism (little f) being the concept of gender equality. I envision a ‘movement’ among men under the idea of small f.

@RedRooster @abbygov Feminism isn’t about “female empowerment.” yeah it’s advocating women’s rights but it’s more on the basis of equality of the sexes. & I stole that directly from google. If u think that doesn’t affect men too I wouldn’t agree

@noorazla @eymmayeuh @abbygov Meaning, men push other men to be better. Men lead by example explicitly to their friends, co-workers and family, demonstrating how to be a Man but also how to be a Person first. If that is underway, I just haven’t witnessed it yet.

@EveOCative @eymmayeuh @abbygov If that can be kindled under the aegis of the formal Feminist movement (big F as opposed to little f), then awesome. But I’m just saying, from my experience, I haven’t seen it. So here’s a guy calling out other guys to do so. That’s literally what I’m talking about.

My impression of the formal Feminist movement is something run by women for women, and the men in their lives join their ranks in support. I have not seen an organic movement among men calling out other men to be better...

@EveOCative @eymmayeuh @abbygov I’ve never said this movement would be ONLY for men, just that it would target them.
And 100% about becoming a PERSON. That would be the fundamental idea.
Maybe I’m gonna look back on this discussion in the future and cringe. I just want men to be better. This was my idea.

Look, what exactly is wrong with branding a message for an audience? Especially if it gets the results you (we) want?

@noorazla @eymmayeuh @abbygov As I’ve said elsewhere in here, being a feminist and a part of this theoretical movement for men is not mutually exclusive.
I don’t see it as a counter-force to feminism. It’s a partner force.

@EveOCative @eymmayeuh @abbygov I, as a man, can’t ever fully understand what it is like to be a woman. You, as a woman, can’t ever fully understand what it’s like to be a man. Let’s not tell each other how to be.
Feminism can greatly inform men about the other half of the population, but not ourselves.

Also, the “1000s of years of men telling women what they need” is exactly what I’m referring to when I’m talking about contradiction.
And you also know how frustrating it is to be dismissed.

@eymmayeuh @abbygov I remember how old I was when I learned how often (daily) you experience men’s unwanted attention such as cat-calls/creepy behavior. I had no idea before, because no one told me.
But I also know women tell each other about men all the time. You know us better than we know you.
