got my first client. a private institute needed a full test platform built from scratch. I said yes. Backend MVP is done. Frontend starts now. Documenting everything publicly Here's the full architecture 👇

@Dev07Exp yeah it was a conscious choice, flexible schema works well for this use case since question structures and test configs can vary.... and MongoDB Atlas handles scaling cleanly without extra infra work...

@_xonoxc thats a gd suggestion actually, heard gd things abt hostinger KVM currently planning on Render/Railway for backend and Vercel for frontend to keep it simple for now only, but will definitely keep this in mind as the project scales...

@Rishikesh04code This can be much more simpler i would recommend just throw it on to a kvm 2 on hostinger both backend frontend, managment will be easy and it works like a charm and won't blow your client's wallet if they upgrade. Ease of maintainence is also one of the added benifits.

@saishmungase for storing files like profile pictures, question images, or any media uploads. database isn't the right place for that, kept both Cloudinary and S3 in the plan, will pick whichever fits the requirement nd economically suitable..

@BuiltByElly got it through someone I know, they needed a test platform for their institute and reached out and the architecture diagram is made on eraser.io

@LostDevraj haha vibe coding is fun until it isn't :) just pick one architecture pattern for example MVC pattern , routes, controllers, models. simple and clean... and start building, architecture clicks when you actually build..

@OMHARSH270171 agree, services layer for business logic and separate validation keeps controllers thin and clean... currently following MVC pattern, planning to introduce services layer as the product scales...

@Rishikesh04code After controllers we can add services as well to keep the heavy lifting in the services files, a validation file to validate the incoming data.. i think this would implement separation of concern and follow the SOLID principles in the architecture and coding as well?

@SmallSilverBack good point! but documenting the development process publicly, not any institute data or student info. no real data, no sensitive details ,just the tech, architecture and build journey..
