Friend of mine is worried about the stock market crashing and is considering selling all of his stocks. Seems like a good time to remind everyone that despite all of the negative headlines: The S&P 500 is only down -3% year to date. This is the time to be buying not selling.

@ilirisht I understand the issue. But I also don't know the history between Serbs and Albanians well enough to make a judgement, beyond that they came later, which we all know. If they were our neighbours, maybe we'd also been at war with them. It's not like we didn't fight the bulgars too

@ilirisht That's a PEAK greek nose aesthetics. Yes, sure. Even I believed in Christ or God, I'd not want to be part of the/a church. Why do I need an institution for that? With Islam and it's sharia law it's even more pronounced, that it's not personal but societyshaping.

@ilirisht I don't care about religion either. But it's more than just personal belief. It's political. It's group affiliation. There's always the chance/risk there will be a conflict that will go along those lines. And I know.... Constantine the Great (Half-greek!).

@ilirisht What do you expect me to tell you? For religious people it makes sense to see Serbia(ns) as their brothers - "For you are all one in Christ". And muslims as their enemies, historically. For them you/they chose to be different.

@ilirisht It's not like we are intolerant just now. I showed you, the derogative term for you isn't new. Being muslim was the defining characteristic for being a Turk as it was not ethnically determined. And you know how much we like them

@ilirisht Because it is submission. It is submission to the God you believe in. And it's theoretically even more so for Muslims, considering what the term "Islam" LITERALLY means. I don't know why you're 45% muslims still to this day if it means nothing to you? What for? As an insurance?

@ilirisht I guess the translations are off/bad. It translated what you said to cultured. Or you used the word cultured for tolerant with the assessment, that being tolerant means cultured. Religion can't be personal, when it's a cult. When you form a group, institutions etc.

@ilirisht Even back then, how could you become a Turk? You can't change your ethnicity. And most Turks weren't ethnically Turkic (Asian) anyways, at least late into the empire. So it was mostly converts (like some greeks), assimilated (anatolians), or stolen (Janissaries). It was a culture

@ilirisht Religion is a choice. You might be born into it but can still change it, like political affiliation. If I'm not wrong, I mostly see Albanians post Pakistanis or Gypsies and act like they are greek, so the actual racism is a lot stronger from your side.

@ilirisht If they wanted to say they were Turks, they'd call them Albanotourkoi = albanian Turks. But they called them Turkalbanoi = turkish Albanians.

@ilirisht I didn't say they mixed nor does the article by Grok say it. It speaks of "Turkified" or "ottoman-loyal". Greeks used it to distinct between Turks and Albanians in the turkish army as well as christian albanians (you know who).
