I asked James earlier whether during contract talks with #CFC hierarchy he asked for assurances over signings, club ambitions before agreeing etc. He said: "I mean I wouldn't go as far as saying signings, but I wanted to make sure that the direction and vision was aligned..

No one can say Reece James has not earned a new deal for Chelsea. He has had to overcome one of the most difficult situations a professional can go through to get to this juncture.
