The entire pool - nets/papers/AP - should decline to cover the Trump campaign if the campaign insists on barring pool reporters. I'm totally serious. If the campaign doesn't want coverage, they shouldn't get coverage. It's not a right and they don't get to unilaterally dictate.

The campaign *especially* shouldn't get to dictate coverage decisions regarding an interview that wasn't with anyone on the campaign! This is dangerous, dangerous stuff and the pool news orgs need to take this incredibly seriously.

This is jaw dropping news. I've covered the Pentagon since around the Thomas Jefferson administration and I've NEVER heard of a top Pentagon leader disappearing like this into a hospital for an entire week without disclosing it to the public.

A Japanese coast guard aircraft which collided with a passenger plane at Tokyo’s Haneda International Airport was instructed only to “taxi to holding point” & had NOT been cleared for takeoff, an official transcript of air traffic control communications suggests.

The same mayor who talks about his New York attitude when criticized takes a very sensitive approach when it comes to the press. A New York attitude goes both ways — and the administration just looks so thin skinned as mayor attacks individual reporters for doing their jobs
