Really?! You’re going for a second hit at this? No one is flogging sex toys in parliament @KemiBadenoch - stop being so reductive. Let’s take the shame out of sex, I have cross party support for my backbench debate. Stop tying to use ‘sex toys’ to shame.

just learned about this regional difference in definitions for the word "nonplussed" and it kinda ruined my day. the way we use it in america is basically an antonym to how it's used anywhere else. why are we like this?

@TSHamiltonAstro @achillghost So you might, if you really wanted to say: ‘It was quite right to complain because while the food was quite good it was bloody cold!’ And someone could reply: ‘Well, quite!’

The oldest wooden church in the world is in Essex (~845AD). Carved into one of the timbers on the outside is a fascinating feature known as a ‘leper’s squint’. So-called because those afflicted by that awful disease could peer in on the service without alarming the congregation

If you go to where the Churn bubbles up from the ground, at a place called Seven Springs, you'll find a Latin plaque.
'Here, O Father Thames, is your sevenfold spring'
It seems that others share the view that the Churn ought to be considered the true source.
