I don’t usually do this. I prefer to focus on my own work rather than call people out publicly. That said, since day one on X, I’ve noticed a consistent pattern with him. At multiple points he’s been pulled strongly by prevailing narratives. It goes back to the yen carry trade concerns in 2024, then the tariff-driven liquidations, and more recently the Iran situation, all while presenting his views as being grounded purely in data. No one gets everything right, and that’s not the issue. What stands out is the tone. During these periods he becomes very loud, confident, and at times dismissive, even aggressive toward others. Then when the view changes, the tone shifts just as quickly to humility and reflection. Everyone is entitled to change their mind, but the repeated cycle of conviction, aggression, and then reversal is becoming hard to ignore. At a certain point, consistency in approach and temperament matters just as much as being right.
