Funny how she and Bernie adjusted the targets of their demonization as soon as everyone found out they are both multimillionaires. Think how many single mothers could benefit from Liz and Bernie’s multimillions!! It’s so unjust they hoard it for themselves! As per all Leftist edicts, they never apply them to themselves.

Wow, that was fast. She went from “Billionaires” to “Ultra-millionaires” in less than 24 hours. The last time I checked, “ultra” was not an official unit of measure. Reminds me of 2 “scoops” of raisins in every box of Raisin Bran. What size scoop are we talking about? Who’s next, “ultra-hundredthousandaires!”

A two-cent wealth tax on ultra-millionaires would: Deliver universal child care, Build millions of homes, Expand Medicare, Provide paid family leave, Fund tuition-free public college, and so, so much more.

It’s really instructive how much the Dems’ main argument against Voter ID relies on it being an unconstitutional burden, meant to limit/ prohibit the exercise of a constitutional right, when you consider the layers upon layers of burden the place on the exercise of 2A rights… also proves once again that coherence is not something the Left views as at all desired.

@__Injaneb96 If the US is willing to stop short of completely removing that regime, I hope the UAE, Israel, and maybe(?) KSA, seize the opportunity to finish the job.

This is not surprising at all. The Gulf countries were never allies of the Islamic Republic, they were managing a threat, trying to avoid becoming targets. Now that they’re already being hit, the calculation has changed. If you are under attack anyway, you don’t sit back and absorb it, you move to eliminate the threat. At this point, that’s the only rational response.
Kosher@koshercockney

WOW. Holy shit. The UAE is now saying absolutely NO CEASEFIRE against the Islamic Republic of Iran. Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba confirms UAE will join efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a lifeline for global oil. A gives confirmation of a $1.4 TRILLION UAE investment commitment in the United States. This is wild. Arab countries are paying the US to bomb the Islamic Regime. Yes, although Democrats didn’t actually achieve anything. They caused a 40+ day shutdown & ended up getting zero policy changes to the agency they’re demonizing, which has been funded the whole time. And Rs say they’ll fund that agency further through reconciliation anyway. I guess the win was causing the harm and pain without really getting punished for it & showing unity in resistance.

The Senate has voted to fund DHS *except for* ICE and Border Patrol. This happened after a Trump threat, but how is it not a big Democratic win? In the past, the party that attached conditions to re-opening the government, or parts of the government, lost the shutdown. Now, Democrats have gotten away with attaching conditions to re-opening the government, and Republicans have agreed to a deal funding most of DHS, but not its immigration enforcement and deportation operations. What was the big Republican mistake here? Negotiating. You don't negotiate with people who are shutting down all or part of the government. The proper response to a threatened shutdown is: "Re-open the government, and then we'll talk about your issue. But first the government has to be re-opened." That is always the public's view. Instead, the GOP agreed to start talks. Once that happened, it legitimized the Democratic position of shutting down part of the government, in this case TSA, while demanding changes in immigration enforcement. Instead of seeing Democrats shutting down TSA over an unrelated policy dispute, the public saw two sides negotiating and unable to agree. So they blamed everybody when this was, in fact, a Democratic move to cripple the administration's enforcement of federal immigration law.

The platypus is one of the most unusual animals: it is a mammal that lays eggs, with a duck-like bill, beaver-like tail, otter-like feet, and is venomous. It uses electroreceptors to find prey, has eyes with double cones, lacks a functional stomach, and has 26 pairs of chromosomes. It is also fluorescent and glows under UV light.

@misfitpatriot_ Even according to his own logic, wouldn’t it be obvious that if having nukes makes you immune to pressure or threat of force being used against you, that it is in our interest to not let a rogue regime get them?

GG: “If you have Nuclear weapons like North Korea we will never mess with you. Iran made a mistake in not getting nuclear weapons.” First of all, we literally fought North Korea in the Korean War, backed by the nuclear armed Soviet Union who engaged US forces directly during the conflict. We also had multiple incidents during the Cold War with the nuclear armed USSR, and we still “messed with them”. And finally, was he asleep for “Little rocket man” during Trumps first term? This dudes a fuckin idiot…

Glenn Greenwald admits he's sad Iran doesn't have nukes. Please weep with Glenn.

@the_jefferymead @SenWarren And if those three Pennie’s that get extracted, two of them will just go to the salaries of newly hired government employees that are meant to administer these new programs, fraud, waste, and abuse… none of the problems she claimed will be fixed will even improve.

I understand that’s how it works now, but that wasn’t how it was designed. Guess who screwed it up? Politicians. That said - it is a defined benefit plan, with caps. Why should I have to pay beyond my cap and fund someone else’s retirement? Better yet, let me opt out completely so I can invest it in something that will give a much higher rate of return. So, no. I don’t think the solution is to take more of my income than they already do.

@SlippySlipnuts @conorjrogers But you're not getting the money you put in, retired people get that. When you retire, your retirement is paid by active workers. It works as long as the demographics are right, but birth rights are down and we can't keep the pyramid scheme going. So what's the solution?

One of the most radicalizing moments of my life was when I learned that they just stop collecting social security taxes on money earned over like $150K. Like you just suddenly keep 3-6% more money on all money over that threshold.
Fuck You I Quit@fuckyouiquit

Every dollar earned below $184,500 a year has a Social Security tax of 12.4%. Everything after that cap is exempt. If we lift this cap on the wealthiest earners, Social Security would be fully funded till 2070. The cap should not exist.
