I recently bought the @OralB io7. It automagically appears in @home_assistant and allows you to create some funky automations based on your tooth brush state. Here's a few ideas I have for some automations. youtu.be/pFPX-MPycm8

Thank you again @blakadder_ for your tutorials! My Sonoff NSPanel Pro with @home_assistant companion app is now helping me to control my home 🎉 Since I only have ethernet cables in junction boxes, I power it using Ubiquiti 24V passive PoE adapter + 5V step-down coverter.

Do you know about some interesting public APIs that you can use for automations? I use APIs for local public transport, my favourite football team matches or namedays. Any tips?

Started using ibeacon to track if my dog is home (oh the terror when the roomba automatically started one day with him home:))... The only downside is that it registers as away after about 15 mins (on return, it registers as home immediately). Any tips?

@BeardedTinker @jamescallaghan @MakeItWorkTech @esphome_ That is a good one too! A good second step could be creating one manually from scratch (instead of using the ready-flash-go-web-installer-thingy)

For me, it is smart coffee machine. Unless it can put a cup under the machine by itself, it is completely useless. Selecting my beverage in app after I already walked to the machine to put a cup there? Why would I do that?

I hate when companies just put "smart" label on everything that just connects to wifi or BT. Even if it does not really do anything smart other than you can just turn it on or off by an app (while giving the company your data). Which "smart" product is the most useless for you?
