Bought myself a Northern Lights projector and it came today. So this is the view from my sick bed. (And yes, I know the clock is stopped. And yes, I know I still have a Halloween pumpkin and a Santy on the shelf. Time doesn’t exist here.)

I don’t know but at a guess, I’d say he’d have told you to shut the fuck up, for starters.

In March 1981, wildlife photographer Carl McCunn went on a hiking expedition, he all the necessary equipment. In fact, he packed enough supplies to last him until August. He arranged for a bush pilot to transport him to a remote lake in Alaska. However, in a tragic oversight, he failed to make proper arrangements for a return flight. Concerned for his well-being when he failed to come back, his family enlisted the assistance of an Alaskan State trooper to conduct a welfare check. During the search, the pilot located Carl's campsite and observed him alive, waving a red bag in the air. Regrettably, the trooper mistakenly interpreted Carl's signal as a casual greeting, assuming that he did not require any assistance. Consequently, the trooper departed without offering aid. Carl found himself perplexed as to why the plane did not return, but soon he came to the realization that he had committed yet another critical mistake. He had unintentionally conveyed the wrong message to the pilot, indicating that he was fine and did not require any help. As his provisions dwindled, Carl contemplated the idea of trekking the 75-mile distance to Fort Yukon. However, considering the scarcity of supplies, he ultimately opted to remain at the campsite. Then, on December 18th, faced with the agonizing prospect of starving to death, he made the deeply distressing choice to take his own life. He documented his agony in his diary. His last entry was, "Dear God in Heaven, please forgive me my weakness and my sins. Please look over my family."
