@apete2009 @BrerOswald I've stayed in the new ones. I understand if you prefer the rustic cabin feel of the older ones. Many modern cabins are made like this now. I actually enjoyed our stay. Culture is still there. Even with the new cabins. Its important to keep spaces like this at WDW.

@disneytipsguy Trattoria al Forno and Tony's. I am not sure what the problem is with Italian food at Disney. But it is just terrible. Especially if you live somewhere that has actual good Italian food options. It boggles the mind that anyone from the Northeast U.S. finds any of it edible.

@Savethedmagic This was Iger's direction. Vahle was little more than a todie. It seems like, at the very worst, Josh might be Iger lite. That isn't great. But, perhaps the worst is over and he is placing people who might have a little different philosophy.

It's a special kind of legacy to be remembered not for what you built, but for what disappeared on your watch. Bulldozing the Magic Kingdom’s soul to chase another IP expansion will never stop feeling like an unbelievably stupid decision.
Mickey Central@Mickey_Central

NEW: Walt Disney World Resort President Jeff Vahle is stepping down in late July, many fans feel a leadership shake-up is long overdue. Good riddance. After Jeff's decision to pave over the Rivers of America, Josh D'Amaro has nowhere to go but up replacing Jeff Vahle. We won't forget what you approved.

@gatortebowfan15 @BrerOswald Yep. Maintain and add on. This whole 5th gate desire is irrational and would just tax the consumer. With this current crop, it would be off the shelf IAPA off the shelf amusement rides, IP everywhere, and mean less maintenance and upkeep for everywhere else. Staffing issues, too.

@BrerOswald They def could I’m just not sure if they will or if it’s a smart business decision. I’m not really convinced DAK was the right decision in 1998. They might have been better served spending that $ expanding the 3 existing parks.

@apete2009 @BrerOswald No. Not sure how you consider it terrible. People camp, bring rvs, it has its own little amazing culture in there along with premium cabins and a brand new resort so they can keep making their money. Fort Wilderness is, IMHO, the best property on site for its diversity of option.

@BrerOswald With the terrible current state of fort wilderness I’d honestly be alright with it if they just took the whole thing out to put a park in there

@TheOKZone @BrerOswald Independence from going to a store is why Blockbuster went away. Independence from government forcing you into something and restricting your movement to where they want you to have the option to go is why personal transportation will always be a part of American culture.

@BrerOswald DisneySea goes where that big parking lot is now, as soon as the country moves away from automobile dependence and into public transit for everyone. People also thought Blockbuster video would never go away. Things change.

@BrerOswald Or they could just maintain and add onto what they currently have and save the consumer a 5th ticket. Also, they don't have the creativity on board to pull that off and make it good to great. They need to just maintain what they currently have for a while.

@disneytipsguy Yep, i really is one of my favorite ones. This year has been visit as much as possible as cheaply as possible. Next year, back to Disneyland. But year after that, I think we go back to staying at places like AKL and WL at WDW.

@SunnylandProds @Spawn_of_Al @disneytipsguy 100% agree with all of that. I'm not foaming over any of it. But most of the stuff they did are things I actually will enjoy. I was hoping Big Thunder went in a lighter different direction than it did but it still has that mining theme I love and emphasizes the flood story.

@Spawn_of_Al @disneytipsguy The Buzz Lightyear revamp genuinely made the ride so much more dynamic and enjoyable. Big Thunder was a necessary refurb, I think Smugglers Run is almost certainly going to be an upgrade, and the new animation experience will DEFINITELY be an upgrade.

@SplashFan2000 @guscasco They abandoned that type of thinking after Wells died. There was a balance while he was alive. Eisner overcompinsated after he was gone. It led to people like Iger taking over. Now, there is no balance. Only balance sheets. They want to sell merchandise. That was the conversation

I still find it astounding how Cars is the IP they chose to replace RoA. Y'know. The movie that literally tells you to slow down and take the scenic route... I have never known a company as out of touch with their own art as Disney are. It's incredible.

I don’t hate DFB, but praising horrendous decisions is the problem. It’s this type of grift that has ruined the parks. They go along because they get a paycheck. It’s the vloggers and Disfluencers that have destroyed the parks and turned them into insufferable slop zones.

@BrerOswald To be fair, DFB is the biggest pile of trash in the community. And it helped birth two other big channels that make me wanna puke every time I see their garbage. Complete shills for the company so stupid they can't even put two original words or concepts together.

In my opinion, it takes two. Disney for making the decision, and the influencers/bloggers for enabling it. Apparently, Disneyland’s small world almost got the boot in the 2000s. It was head honchos in the fan community that pushed against it and they compromised with characters.

Disney CEO Josh D'Amaro outlines his long-term perspective during his first earnings call. "First, creative excellence, it'll remain at the center of everything that we do. Disney's greatest competitive advantage has always been the quality of our storytelling and the enduring connection our brands have with audiences all around the world. Second, we have a real opportunity to deepen our direct relationship with our fans by creating a more connected Disney experience across streaming, sports, games, and experiences, with Disney+ playing an increasingly central role. Third, technology, it can be a powerful accelerant for Disney, improving the consumer experience across our business lines, driving operational efficiency, and unlocking new possibilities for creativity, growth, and returns."

@awesomemixnick I wouldn't call it controversial. I call it a refreshing perspective. Lines were constantly moving and efficient before fast pass. But even FP was more efficient than lightning multipass garbage.

Abolish Lightning Lane. Stand-by lines would fly without them, and the Lightning Lane lines could be used for a reformed DAS System. It would probably only require Disney to increase ticket prices by less than $10 per guest to not lose the money from LL’s, too.

@falcon1164 @awesomemixnick It really isn't stupid. Do some research on what lines were like before lightning lanes or fast pass. People have been living with this garbage for so long they really don't know or don't remember how lines used to move. Literally why the Omnimover was invented.

@BrerOswald I like that it is basically recreating parts of the studio. Not sure about the Disney Jr. show. Do kids even watch that stuff anymore? Another drawing experience... no thanks. The rest of it, though, I really really like if it happens. Meet and greets and a playground, awesome!

@JudyWinslow_fm It really is a great park. One of the best in the world. The improvements are big unknowns at this point, though. We don't know if they will make things better as some of it is replacing stuff that was already there.
