This is hilarious to me because this person correctly identified all the problems with the 5 star rating system and then came up with a system that has a whole host of different, yet arguably worse problems.

I love movies. I hate the 5 star rating system. One number can’t capture why a movie worked (or didn’t). Was the story gripping but the direction flat? Did the sound design carry it when the acting didn’t? A single star rating flattens all of that. It doesn’t help that written reviews are legitimately just jokes for likes nowadays. @BloufB A small portion of video essays are really good and give you a perspective on the anime/manga/game that you might have never seen without watching the video.
Most of them just blather on, come to obvious conclusions, and hide the lack of substance with good editing
