If your ideology teaches you to restrain from responding to the Taslīm (greeting of peace: as-salāmu ʿalaykum) of another Muslim because they do not belong to your sect, then that is a path inspired by Shayṭān (Satan). If your ideology teaches you that no other Muslim will enter Jannah (Paradise) except those who follow your sect, then Shayṭān (Satan) has become your teacher. If your ideology teaches you to dismiss the contributions of Muslims across the centuries because they did not conform to your preferred orientation, then Shayṭān (Satan) has shaped your lens. If your ideology teaches you to declare Muslims innovators, deviants, or disbelievers with ease and without restraint, then you have been trained upon harshness, not guidance. If your ideology makes you love argument more than truth, and victory more than sincerity, then your heart has been diverted from the maqṣad (higher objective) of the dīn (religion). If your ideology strips you of adab (proper conduct) when speaking about scholars, elders, and the righteous, then it has robbed you of the nūr (light) of knowledge. If your ideology makes you see yourself as the only saved group and everyone else as astray, then it has planted arrogance in your soul under the guise of righteousness. If your ideology teaches you to break unity, sow suspicion, and thrive on division, then it serves the agenda of Shayṭān (Satan), not the Sunnah (Prophetic way). If your ideology makes you harsh with believers but silent or soft towards falsehood and oppression, then your miʿyār (standard of judgment) is corrupted. If your ideology disconnects knowledge from humility, worship from character, and creed from compassion, then it has reduced the dīn (religion) to a shiʿār (empty slogan) without rūḥ (spirit). If your ideology makes you forget that Allāh (God) alone judges hearts and destinies, then it has led you into a dangerous overreach. If your ideology teaches you to follow labels more than the Qur’ān and the Sunnah (Prophetic way), then it has replaced guidance with identity. And if your ideology does not bring you closer to Allāh (God) in humility, mercy, wisdom, and truth, then it is not guidance, no matter what name it carries. What does your ideology teach you?

@IdrisAOni1 Not everything the Prophet (May Peace Be Upon him) did not do is automatically bid‘ah, and the Prophet leaving something does not necessarily mean it is prohibited. If an action falls under a general command, like remembering Allah, it remains permissible unless proven otherwise.

For the sake of Allah, matters of this religion is not always white and black. Those who are not trained should not take the reign of public preaching or Da'wah. They should stop taking positions and saying "I agree and disagree with this or that" in a field that they are neither trained nor experienced. The excesses will only lead to more confusions and extremism on matters that are very simple. The takbīr of ʿĪd itself is firmly established in the Sunnah, and the Companions like Abdullah ibn Umar and Abu Hurairah were known to recite it aloud in public places. However, their practice was that each person said the takbīr individually, creating a powerful collective atmosphere without coordinating their voices into a single, unified chant. This shows that the foundation of takbīr is Sunnah, while its exact method matters. Some scholars consider synchronized, collective recitation (where everyone follows one voice in unison) to be a bid‘ah because acts of worship should be performed exactly as transmitted, and this specific form was not practiced by the Prophet (ṣallāLlāhu 'alayhi wa sallam) or his Companions. Others, however, allow it, arguing that the basis is established and that organizing people in this way can help teach the takbīr and strengthen unity, as long as it is not believed to be the only correct or required form. A balanced approach is to recognize that the Sunnah is for individuals to recite the takbīr freely and naturally, without coordination, while also understanding that this issue falls within legitimate scholarly disagreement. It should not become a cause for harsh condemnation or division among Muslims. The priority is to uphold the remembrance of Allah and maintain unity, while gently teaching the more authentic practice where appropriate.

I once worked for a company as HR Manager. During onboarding, management’s major concern was that staff were underperforming and not taking work seriously. That was how I said no wahala, that is why I am here. I put on my fighting shoes and resumed work. The second week of my resumption, we stayed in the office for 2 consecutive days without light. Ahhh, I no see light charge my fighting tools, how I go take fight like this? What exactly is going on here? Accounts said MD travelled to the village, so she is unreachable to approve money to buy light or fuel for the generator. I was like, so none of you here can say let there be light and light will come? How much do we need to buy light so I can provide and get refunded when we reach MD? Haba, we need to work. One old staff called me aside and said, OgaHR, I understand you are new but let me tell you that if you use your money to buy light, just consider the money gone because company will never refund you. Ask all the staff how much company is owing them. That’s why nobody wants to use their money to do anything for the company because otilor. Ahh me that have not collected salary yet will now start losing money? Another thought told me you are the leader and leaders take risk, buy the light. Wait, for two days, productivity was 0%, not because the people were not ready to work but because the system prevented them. I asked my HR officer, has this happened before? She first burst laugh and said it’s normal here o, that’s how we roll Boss. Chai, I have to return the fighting tools I came with to fight the staff because prolong low battery can damage the equipment. Sometimes, it could be a system problem and not the people. Does your system and structure aid performance? When MD returned from her trip, another drama unfolded…………… Take the lessons in this one first and wait for part 2. My name is Amos Nsemeke: I practice and teach HR for a living with small humor so you don’t get bored reading my stories.

@_arowona I always think about this, but here’s a reality check: you are definitely going to be reading Surah Al-Kahf four times for the entire month anyway. Read and pass. May Almighty Allah accept our prayers.

I have seen a few comments especially on X where some people deliberately use this video to badmouth Imams who elongate Taraweeh. Someone even said, 'Come and hear, it's your Alfa talking!' Although Shaykh's comment is necessary because there are actually some Imams going extreme. However, it should be noted that: 1. Shaykh's comment isn't a discouragement for Imams who elongate moderately or the congregation who cherish elongation. I have observed Salah behind Shaykh several times and if many of those criticising elongation prayed behind him they would probably label him an extremist, I am telling you. 2. The best prayer is the one with prolonged standing. This is a hadith, not something you can criticise anyhow. For instance, 15 minutes calm Taraweeh is not the same as 1hr calm Taraweeh. 3. Imams should elongate moderately while putting the congregation into consideration. Constantly reciting short surahs only when you can read longer surahs is one of the mistakes of Imams. 4. The congregation should exercise patience with the Imam, remembering their standing pleases Allah and it will be rewarded. 5. Without patience, Surat Quraysh will seem long. I've seen someone who left Salah because the Imam recited Surat ad-Dhua and to him it was too long! 6. Two units calmly observed rakah are better than a super-fast Taraweeh where 10 rakahs are completed in 10 minutes. 7. There is no harm in aiming to cover much or complete the whole Qur’an in Taraweeh prayers. This is a lofty way of the Salaf, recommended but not compulsory. 8. There is no extremism in elongation if you pray alone or you lead people like you who love prolonged standing. والله أعلم. Idris Isiaka
