I’m currently on a mission to hitchhike the world. Resting in Lima, Peru for a few days nursing a broken ankle. Got a few days to kill so I figured I’d start writing up semi-regular updates both for me and my memories but also anyone who could find this interesting. As a quick catchup to this point: I started in Bogota, Colombia. I’ve been working my way south ever since. Since writing about Colombia would take too long, for now I’m going to skip it. Instead I’ll start a month and a half or so ago when I crossed the border from Ipiales, Colombia into Tulcan, Ecuador. I had been hitching at this point for close to 2 months and was getting pretty tired of it so I decided to buy a children’s scooter and attempt to make it to Quito (roughly ~250km). Along the way I met Jonathan, a guy from Colombia riding his bike to Chile with his cats. I spent the next 2 days with Jonathan after we camped out on the side of the road and met a family from Argentina traveling north in their van. Unfortunately for my scooter, this time, the Andes won. By the end of my 70km ride that I did in the ~10 hours on this thing, the brakes had completely melted. It was back to hitching. Over the next few days I wildcamped on the outskirts of Ibarra and was making my way to Quito when a family picked me up (the Peñafiels) and after smelling me offered me a shower and a place to stay for the night. I ended up staying with them for a few days and made my way into the Amazon where I met Brandon who showed me around his town of Puyo and made me try a bunch of traditional foods which included guinea pig, beetle larvae, and some fish wrapped in banana leaves. After visiting the Peñafiels one last time before I left for Peru, I ended up stopping at Cotopaxi, Cuenca, Loja and Macara along the way, finding a place to camp out in each. I got to Macara pretty late after meeting a family that owned the bus company and after my persistent refusal they ended up hooking me up on a bus for free anyway. That night I slept in front of the fire station - first time in this journey I’ve actually had to sleep on the street. Not as bad as you’d think to be honest. Pics attached. Till next time!

@cremieuxrecueil I think the problem is how these age groups are being framed as being adversaries, when in fact the adversary is the political elites that allow these housing, healthcare etc issues to affect them.

The people of iceland are indigenous to their land the same way the aboriginals are to Australia. Indigenous clans in Europe started phasing out cannibalism 15,000 years ago.

Guess what go to a native indigenous European tribe and you know what you’ll find? No written language, cannibalism, no legal system…you just described clans you could find on every single continent where humans lived…but would you say the average European lived like that? No..just like the average African didn’t either

They thought white people were ghosts of deceased rival tribesmen. They thought white people were bulletproof.

You do know Africa had multiple 20k plus populated cities with stone structures that rivaled European ones right? And the richest empire/person in history was sub Saharan…also the average European lived in mudhuts at the time just like in Africa the average European town or village had no stone structures unless it was the church..also fun fact did you know Plato, Herodotus, Thales, Pythagoras, and Solon all Ancient Greece philosophers visited Africa to study there..learning math, astronomy, geometry, medicine, art, and stone building which helped put Greece into its classical age which then influenced Rome creating Greco-Roman synthesis that defined much of European history and this is backed in their individual writings along with Greece historians..

@YouM3tv Unless you are in low trust it’s pretty rare to come across cheaters - I’m in 15-25k prem lobbies and I’ll only run into a cheater like once every 10 games. If I’m in red trust it seems to be almost every game
