Maybe blasphemous but I don't think the perfect "accurate" CGI t rex has been made yet, not even PHP. While I adore PHP's naturalistic color patterning I feel like the head looks like it belongs to a much smaller animal, the eyes are quite large and the face doesn't feel hefty

@Coolio_Art Im glad someone appreciates this because I really spent way too long on this. The most amount of time I spent on any single piece(though that’s changing soon)

Here's some of the DLSS 5 material we saw in the demos but didn't get a chance to film. Here I think you can see the strengths of DLSS 5 - reflections become much more attractive. Starfield doesn't have great lighting to begin with, so the differences can be profound.

@arvalis Super wrinkly, almost elephantine, and small beady eyes. As well as droopy weighty saggy lips that add to the heft of the face

Plus, the scales on PHP's rex look larger than they should be, please correct me if im wrong on that. I think my "ideal" rex would be something akin to the way @arvalis reconstructs T rex with PHP's cgi quality and color patterns

@arvalis @oliemack uhuh, the 3d scanned item lost its intergrity. How do artists retain art style when unreal engine wipes their back side, with reused asset, reused textures, reused animations. They find a way somehow to control and adjust it, you think they can do that here sherlock?

Oh holy crap that’s so cool. I had no idea! In these decks we would find images online to help visualize the presentation since it would be just internal documents. So it’s really crazy to learn your art made it on that slide. Well.. not crazy bc the art is crazy good. What a small ass world

I didn’t share the biggest and most important aspect of this little project - the director, designer, partner and only person I would ever (hypothetically) do this project with - Bannon Rudis. He directed The River City Girls games amongst many others with a strong focus on combat feel, narrative, and design that is fresh. He and I worked on this pitch together and I owe all of the praise to him for guiding along the artwork I made for the concept. He’s a big Capcom nut and huge Predator fan which gave so much credibility to the design he was creating for this idea. Here are some snapshots of the work he put together. I trust him with my entire being with game design and love working with him on projects (we are one one right now). The idea of the vision he had for this game and it not becoming a reality is what I’m most sad about. All that said, is this still possible? Iono maybe? Perhaps we can try to reopen the conversation again. Fan reaction has been tremendous especially in the beatem up community and fans of retro games. I don’t see why this couldn’t become something that could come to life and we are able to talk to the right people. Thousands of people can’t be wrong for wanting this but I have been jaded so much over the years, I’m not holding my breathe. It’s not even the fact that people like the new Connor O’Malley video, it’s the way that they’re defending it in a way that’s divorced from reason or analysis that rubs me the wrong way. If you think he’s a great living artist, why not offer the same level of critique?
