every time i see "[video game track] with lyrics!" this video always beams into my head without fail

people pretending like sonic/shadow calling the other “faker” is at all appropriate today pmo so bad. sonic calls shadow a phony in sa2 because he’s using his likeness to incriminate sonic which gets him arrested and put in alcatraz. not because uhh… he kinda looks like him

@Shamaboy11 meanwhile jason's voice feels like you can actually see sonic sounding like that. hence why it feels more "natural" to some folk

@Shamaboy11 it sounds more natural for it to come out of sonic's mouth. the voice in of itself is NOT natural, it defo sounds like it's from an anime as any 4kids voice will, but roger's sonic, albeit sounding like an actual person talking, doesn't sound like it's naturally sonic talking.

@ZachInsomnia would you personally say unleashed is a good example of realism? i've personally always thought the game still kept enough cartooniness and surrealism to justify the whole yknow real life locations stuff

Pure realism should never be the core of a Sonic games visual identity Sonic has always looked better when surrealism was at focus, or when realism was combined with surrealism

nah this is the best we've had since the late 2010s, but nah. artstyle, music, presentation, sauce, gameplay, writing, characterization, voices... they all need major overhauls for me to be happy with it again bring back the experimental eras. stop being corporate

So I saw this and have to say this as a PSA to the Sonic Community: I hate to be that guy, but I would REALLY wait to purchase any tickets for this. It doesn't seem to be a sanctioned SEGA event based on the info provided. While I'm sure Johnny can still tour and sing Crush 40 songs, I would have to imagine that there would be some major copyright issues using Sonic characters in an elaborate World Tour stage show. SEGA is generally cool with fan projects and whatnot as long as they're not for profit. This, on the other hand, is completely for profit and selling tickets using their IP. I don't post about it often, but I work professionally as a graphic designer (last 10 years), so I deal with branding, IP rights, copyright, etc. on a daily basis. Everything about this tour screams "See what we can get away with". My main fear for the community is that people buy tickets for this, the tour winds up getting cancelled or reduced due to legal action, and Sonic fans have to deal with the headache of trying to get their money back. I know I'm just that goofy Eggman guy, but I REALLY get bad/sus vibes from this. I genuinely would hold off on this until more information comes out.

@beppbops yeah idk about anyone else but i try and make mine ALWAYS follow the lead melody. because let's say a song was made in mind with lyrics; that would be what the lyrics would sound like melodically. the melody.

i will never understand those "utdr/ with lyrics" videos because almost all of it is genuinely just whole entire paragraphs sung over a track when it barely even tries to harmonize with the instrumental or pacing whatsoever. sacrificing the melody to get like 6 words out at once

@BraviaGames to me "I'd never betray you" is a good way of evaluating whether or not a sonic quip is OOC or not within the context of his friends. I think condescension towards sonics friends even if it's followed up by sincerity kinda ruins the aspirational part of his character

@SirL0ser sonic being cocky is not a central character trait of his you're confusing that with his attitude

@axedashed i'm praising the version of sonic where he acts in ordinance to his central character trait he's not even being mean dawg, at worst he's being overly smug but nowhere near mean
