Common ways to lose the trust of your team: 1. Not taking ownership when things go wrong 2. Inconsistency 3. Poor Communication

Authority is given. Influence is earned. Don't confuse your title with your ability to lead.

You may have a true authority position in your organization, but influence has to be earned.

The quickest way to gain influence: give influence to others.

Leadership is more than just a powerful job title. Leadership is about the team.

When someone on your team says something that you don't agree with, don't try to convince them of why you are right. Instead, try to shift your perspective to understand where they are coming from.

When standards consistently exhaust the team, that’s not toughness—that’s poor leadership. Burnout is a leadership signal. Extreme Ownership means not just owning outcomes but sustaining them too.
